Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are doing Ironman distances this month! We have a neighbor down the road and around the corner that is in his 90's I believe. He still lives at home with his wife. They have a daughter that lives across the road. My husband has a cousin that just built a house next to their daughter. They were out doing some yard work the other evening and when they went in the house the old man was sitting in their kitchen like it was his house. He told them to come on in and sit down so they could talk awhile. Sunday I went for a long run. I called the house to have my son bring the 4-wheeler to pick me up once I hit my goal distance. I told him where to meet me. I went a long way, ok. Get off my back. A little while later, right about sunset, we got a call asking for my husband and son to take the 4-wheeler back through the woods. The old man had wandered off and his family couldn't find him. The boys took off. My BIL and his wife took theirs out, too. While they were out there my son tells his dad that he saw someone walking down the road while he was waiting for me. They come home and jump in the truck and head in the direction my son saw someone walking. The come home shortly afterward and say they found him. He had walked a mile down the road into the small town we live near. His daughter got to him the same time my boys did. I am happy they found him. He is old, it got cold Sunday night, and if he hadn't have gone into town we live in the middle of nowhere. I am also proud of my son. He was smart enough to say to his dad that he had seen someone walking and show his dad where. Good job buddy. |
