On a side note, I see IM CDA has 119 pages. I'm not getting whipped in page count!!

PAD

IM CDA= 119 pages
IM TX= 96 pages

Difference: 23 pages
x 20 posts/ page

= 460 posts / 12 days

Need an average of 38 posts/ day

Funny dream last night. I dreamed I got all of my posts pulled off of this thread (I said something I shouldn't have, imagine that!) and was banned from posting here until post-race. Y'all were mad at me for setting us back several pages! Guess that's my punishment for posting right before falling asleep

I've been planning the timing of my next buzz-cut as well. It's tonight after my run. Just enough time for my #1 buzz to grow back a tiny bit so my scalp doesn't fry. I wear a visor when running so the top of my head gets baked sometimes if I cut it too close to a race.

11 days...

I hear you - I wear a visor as well - I will be the dude with sun block for hair gel.

I will start my freak out sessions once we get to single digits!

On another note, when is everyone arriving in town ... for me, we will be there next Thursday around 10am... get checked in at the race and hotel (residence inn market street) and then maybe go for a quick bike ride. Is anyone planning on going to the dinner Thursday evening?

Flying in late Wednesday but won't get to the race site until ~10am Thursday as well. Definitely going to the Thursday dinner.

Figures..we havent had rain in a solid 3+ months here and of course the one weekend I dont want it to rain....its predicted. Grant it, that forecast is still 11 days out but........... DANG!!! Oh and the heat, if it is 82 and cool...there goes the "home field" advantage. I've trained in this heat for the last couple months thinking it would give me a slight edge over the northerners. Double-Whammy!!  LOL

I'll be going to the dinner also. I purchased a ticket for my wife and all I received was a receipt from active.com, does this act as the ticket or do they check names at the door?

if I remember correctly, they'll give you your ticket when you pick up your packet...

can anyone confirm that?

I'm an over-achiever so I'm already here No Thursday dinner for me, I'll be at the mandatory meeting though. Do we want to do some sort of BT meet-up that weekend?

Good plan John. I will be at the swim Friday and plan on the athletes dinner. I did not get an extra ticket yet. Where do you order them? Can you buy it on site when you register?Plan to get there by 11ish Thursday morning

Same here. I got in town in 1982 just to scope the course. I knew this race was coming here, even at age 8.

Being that I live an hour away, I'll probably drive down on Thursday for packet pick up and the dinner, then drive back home, and then drive back down on Friday for good. We got a hotel at the Super 8 (yes, I am THAT cheap) on 45 by sawdust and rayford rd for Friday and Saturday, but I'm debating whether I should extend the reservation and include Thursday too.

I plan on going to the swim to hide my fins find something real big to sight off of.  I was also thinking of sinking a chum bucket on the left side (read fast side) so I will not be the bait when the fire starts.  I always enjoy 600.00 food so I may come down for the meal.

I fly into Hobby at 11 AM.  Probably won't make it to the Woodlands until ~3 or so.  I don't feel like paying $30 for my husband to have a buffet dinner that night, so we'll likely forage for ourselves for dinner, then hit the athlete meeting.

For Friday, I still don't know.... We're staying in the Heights Thurs night with a friend.  I don't want to be going back and forth to the Woodlands all Friday so I'll probably skip the swim in the morning.  We're staying in Conroe (another friends house - I'm REALLY cheap) for Fri/Sat, still not sure where we're staying Sunday night.

Who needs to site? I'm tying a rope to TJ and floating on my back. This will serve 2 purposes - it will get me a record breaking swim and allow me to avoid ingesting any of that nasty lake water.

Erin, be careful. Remember registration closes at 4 on Thursday. Make sure you are there in time!

Who has ordered myathletegps thingy? About to pull the trigger on the day rental. Figure for my wife\kids and my parents it will take the guess work of when I will arrive back to start the run off the bike. I would hate to tell them to trust the ahtlete tracker on ironman.com with hearing with IMSG that was up to 45 to hour delay..

Looking at the long range forecast, yes it says rain, and it will change 100 times before Saturday. But I did notice that the rainfall amount was something like 0.09 so less than a tenth of an inch. Also, thunderstorm chances at 4%. So maybe just cloudy and much cooler. I can live with that!

Don't worry, I'll be careful   Dummy here originally booked her flight to arrive on Thurs at 6 PM.  Fortunately I realized this ~3 weeks ago and changed it to the first flight of the morning.  Price even went down $30 from when I booked it.
