Artemis - 2012-10-17 10:15 AM Morning Manatees! It's been a bit crazy for me lately.  Finally got an answer on my wrist - having surgery Friday to fix it.  Sorry I haven't been around much!

I'll be thinking of you on Friday. Speedy recovery!

Me too me three me four!

And biscuits and Moose too?

They're the three and four.

I have a pic in my blog of Biscuits passed out drunk. Here she is:

Is there a way to re-size a photo here when inserting the hosts URL or is that something you have to do before hosting it?

TriAya - 2012-10-17 12:19 PM Welp, I'm in Jakarta. It's my mom's 79th birthday tomorrow. My sister begged me not to go because we think my dad might hold me hostage. It's cool; I have multiple exit strategies. He hasn't done anything wicked so far, although of course I just got here and haven't tried to leave yet.

Well, at least you have pop tarts. Right?

YES! YES I DO! I brought an empty suitcase just for the rest of the Pop Tarts and running shoes. And cereal if I can score some here.

If I have to flee the island or the country, those Pop Tarts are coming with me.

Yeah. The pop-up window when you press the tree button to insert has three tabs. The second one is Attributes or something. Anyway it has pixels x pixels and you can specify the size there. It'll keep the ratio constant.

I wear a rubber bracelet with my name, blood type, allergies and SISTER'S PHONE NUMBER on it.

Sharpie'd. Klassie.

I always thought my ID would suffice. It hadn't even occurred to me to have contact info or blood type until my boss's doomsday scenario. Especially considering our already limited rights by not being married. I really should find out my blood type.

you've prob heard this before, but it doesn't really do any good to have blood type on your roadID because they will FOR SURE type and cross you NO MATTER WHAT, even if it says your type on your ID. (at least that's the case here in the good 'ol USofA).  It doesn't hurt to put it on there, but if you need the space, that could be the first thing to go...

Contact info, to me, is the most important thing. allergies to meds, significant medical history/medical devices are all important too

And totally off subject: Salt, are you in a relationship? or are you PLAYIN the field?!?  I don't hear mention of a GF or see anyone in any of the photos you post...  wait, is that too nosey?  Too late, I already asked it.

Ughhhh thank you!! And I apologize to all for my insanely huge photos of the past. I knew it was something simple.

cdban66 - 2012-10-16 8:37 PM 50 miles running in a week challenge. I just got this from Road ID. They are giving a $10 gift card to anyone who completes the challenge. http://www.strava.com/challenges/road-id-lace-em-up-challengeSound like anyone we know?

Yikes!  Good luck with the challenge, Chris! I know you will do it.

And yeah, I'm a Road ID user and believer.  I wear it biking 100% of the time and running most of the time.  I wear an ankle one for biking, and I keep it in my helmet with my gloves, etc. when I'm not riding, so I see it and have to do something with it (like put it on) if I want to put my helmet on.  Running: I have one for my wrist but it doesn't always 'live' with my other running stuff and occasionally doesn't get put on.

Ohh no, not me. I'm thinking Salty will get more free stuff if she does the challenge, since 50 miles is like 3 days for her.

And you know how I love free stuff!!! The first time I read it I thought you meant yourself, too and I was about to kick your azz. Smile

Speaking of free stuff, I was asked to be a lab rat for the new Brooks Pure 3 line.

That's awesome!  How does one get to do that?

Sign up on their website: Lab Rat form

They are pretty specific about requirements, but it is definitely worth signing up.

COOL! thanks

Nah, I just don't want to paste her all over the internet without her consent. She's a fairly private person unlike her worse-half.

If I were playing the field y'all would certainly know. And it probably wouldn't be pretty.

Actually, ya know what? I totally couldn't do it.  I'm a nutcase/freak about my shoes and changing them (or more specifically NOT chagning them) - I totally coudn't do that.  If they had a CLOTHING  lab rat section though, I'd be all over that!!

more power to you Salty to be able to rotate between a huge pile of shoes AND now possibly these tester shoes - even if it didn't affect me physically, it would totally screw iwth my mind (changing shoes that often, i mean).  I'm kinda crazy about that...

No way. You have the misconception that I am tall. I am just under 5'5"

But I guess I look at it in the context of the rest of my friends and, well, you have seen how tall they are!

Ok, I have to come clean. I have a work wife, too and she bakes. She is creating a Blue Moon (as in the beer) cupcake for me to bring to a party on Friday and has been bringing in different variations all week. This past sample had beer brushed onto the top and a candied orange slice.

Okay, I gotta go paste up my mom's sign. I'll post a pic when it's done.

I didn't even think about baking a cake for tomorrow, speaking of cupcakes. Well, I shall, then! That way my mom can ask for any kind of cake she likes. With my luck she's gonna say Cheesecake ...

However, I generally suck at most artsy things (as you'll see from my mom's very fun birthday sign). Now I feel inclined to defend myself against myself though, so here was an exception.

This was my Valentine's gift to Cake Boy, a guy I was dating for a few years in LA. (He made beyond professional-grade cakes. On more than one occasion I saw someone take a bite of a piece of his cake, then go mad and just dig into it--the CAKE--with their fingers. People got HIGH on his cakes. No drugs or alcohol, unless it was for flavoring).

Born in the Year of the Tiger. Very much so. Here's his drawing consisting of the words to the story The Lady and the Tiger, and also William Blake's "Tyger" (not sure it's actually called that) from Songs of Innocence and Experience.

You never rubbed me as the green type. Unless you count always being sick, of course But perhaps that is a different shade of green.

Baking IS impressive. I'll have nothing to do with it unless you count instant pistachio pudding.
