New month guys! Great time to get out there and train hard for Aug/Sept tris!

Hope everything is going well with everyone!

I'm beyond excited for the Tour de France to start!! Wooohooo!!! I call Andy Schleck for the win, Contador and Lance for Podium. I'll prob be wrong because the Tour is chaotic, but we will see. I'm excited to see some hcore sprints out of Tom and Thor too!...Yes, I am on first name basis with these guys Haha

Hey Dudes! Interesting day yesterday. Watched alot of sports and then went out on what will be known as "Run #1". Decided to go to a trail that loops around a lake...lots of rocks and exposed roots...well...ya, I fell down...pretty hard. Only some minor surface wounds and rash. My tights saved my thigh and hip from destruction. lol.

I ran about 2km back to my car after my awesome incident and drove home to make sure I hadn't really cut my hand up because I couldn't see how deep with the blood. So I had only run 10/20km. So I went out again in the heat after dinner and finished the other 10km. It was a bit rough. But I got er done.

Hope you all had a less eventful Sat injury/collision with ground wise!

Hi Guys,

Mel - I hope the blood has stopped by now !!
Antti - hope the toe is getting better.

Had a hard week, I am away to edinburgh next week on a training course so am hammering the bike this week.
28miler on sat, 10.6loop on sun/mon/tues (got that down to 37mins Cool ).
Rest day wed then went to the local bike club last night for the first time !!
I had been told it would be ok, "Thursdays are just an easy group ride...."
Expecting a gentle 15 miles and got a 28miler in a group of 16 !!
(never riden in a group before either lol)
I clung on until 23 miles then got dropped, couple of guys stayed back with me.
I still averaged 17.6 which was darn fast for me !

There is a gym at the hotel next week so will concentrate on swim before breakfast and run before dinner each day.
Then Mrs A is coming down and we are meeting friends for the weekend (with no kids ! Cool )
Grown-up conversation all weekend !

Take care and have a great weekend

morning,

rather tired now, managing to keep to the planned training this week (so far ! )

3/4mile swim before breakfast and 10k on the dreadmill before dinner.
Legs feel like lead !  lol.

Now starting to panic as its only 8 weeks to my HIM and I feel a tad under-prepared Embarassed

So far my max distances are:-
swim - 1 mile
bike 30miles
run 7 miles

not to worried about the run as I've done a couple of marathons (slowly) , just need to get to the start of the run !!

Hello everyone.  Sort of MIA, sort of not.  Had a lovely tri this past weekend at the ocean. Still, the swim was in a lake.  Missed 3rd place Athena by 2 minutes though

5K swim on Saturday. I am SO nervous!

Tonight is my last in edinburgh, proud that i stuck to my plan and have swam and ran every day this week (as well as being on a course and doing uni work at night !)

26miles on the treadmill and 5k in the pool, looking forward to a rest weekend with friends.... there might even be some beer and rum on the menu Innocent   (beer is good carb replenishment - especially guiness yum yum ).

Just had an email from the organisers of my HIM, there will be no cut-offs yaahhhooooooo !

nite nite from a happy adbru Cool

Finished my 5K swim in 2:14.   came last in the wetsuit division. Little bummed but I swam a lot slower than usual.  Glad I did to be honest because this morning my whole upper body is screaming at it.  Glad I did it. I just really wanted to finish and I did.   Fun times

Of to see Celtic play Seattle today!

Happy Sunday.

2 weeks out from my 70.3 in Calgary. It doesn't matter how many races I've done or how long I have been competing in sports I always have the same overanalysis going through my head leading into taper.

Need to sit back and be chill. Haha.

Everytime I go drink I have the exact same thought! Haha. (well minus the cigarettes...I'm pretty sure I've tried to get one of my friends to give me one and they told me "no, you are too good girl for this")...which in hindsight is a good thing that I have this rep. I remember not being that impressed originally.

Nice work lately! The toe is getting better?

Good morning peeps.   Anyone racing this weekend?  I found a small triathlon right in my part of town.  I've actually done it 2 years in a row, this year though I get a discount because of my tri team.  I'm thinking of signing up for it. It's tomorrow and realllllly close to where I live.   Would be $50 all in, plus the shirts they give out are tech shirts and not horrible white cotton (why is it always cotton?)

I survived my swim.  2 hours 14 minutes.  One of the volunteers took a picture of the 3 milers from the overpass above.  I think it's really cool!

I also survived the Sounders V's Celtic game. lol

well done on the swim Laughing  respect ! (i'd be lucky to cover 2 miles in 2:15 never mind 3 !! )

training has gone sporadic again Frown so decided to go for pain yesterday and did a new distance record (for me) 38.3 miles ...
Legs were VERY shot by the end but 15.2mph and 1600ft of climb so pretty happy.
Need lots of bike and swim over the next 5 weeks to limit the damage of my 70.3

Mel, how you feeling with a week to go before your 70.3?

Nice swim!

I actually haven't received a cotton race tshirt for awhile. Actually, in the past 2 years I think all the shirts I have are tech shirts--with the exception of a hoodie I got at one!

Nice getting in a solid bike even with sporadic training!

I'm feeling good. Still have the remnants of a lingering azz injury that sometimes decides to be angry. I'm doing a crescendo--decrescendo style taper. Haha. I named it this myself. SO I had a bit of volume on the weekend and now I am decresendoing for the next 6 days. Haha. I'm taking a rest day to let my azz feel better and just easy easy for the next few days.

I have to fly back to Edmonton on Thursday and I'm driving down to Calgary on Sat morning with my best friend who is sherpaing for me. I have to go and get her something at some point too. A nice goodie bag.

Rock On Mel !!   Cool

I'll look forward to your leadup and race reports ....

My training is still all over the place, when I train the sessions are good but just not enough of them.
I am now convinced that I wont be able to commit to an IM next year Cry
I will aim to stay around marathon/HIM base fitness but a full IM is out for a couple of years at least.....

Hoping to go out with the local bike club again tonight, I got toasted the last time and I heard that last weeks group ride was 40 miles !! yikes !!

Just take it as it comes, I'd definately say wait until the consistancy is there before committing to an IM.

IMLP is going to be interesting that's for sure. Haha. Oh well...at least I have friends who I will force to go on rides/runs with me...they can take turns for "social" time...Hahaha. (*evil laugh)

Hi Guys,

new max distance on the bike today, 48.4 miles with 2300feet of climb !!

I'm now happy i could do the 56miles next month, however the run afterward might be a problem lol.

I now REALLY need to work on the swim, its no good being able to bike and run if you dont finish the swim...

hope everyone else is still training hard.

Nice work.

Well I signed up for the 70.3.  8 weeks to train.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to die.  Oh well. I survived the Xterra so pretty sure I can survive this....we shall see.  I can always quit while I'm ahead but I just want to finish.
