I went up to Albany for poker night yesterday and took advantage but swimming at the college this morning. Now about to head out for a long bike ride, hopefully 70+ miles! Looks like I'll have decent riding weather too.

Now I'm over 50% of my bike quota for the month! Thank god. I'm starting to get to fast for the distances that I am going on...Looks like I've got to increase the distances now to get the time up! I think I can finally do 20km in 40min on more or less flats...its stills gets quite a bit slower with hills...more power and less weight is needed...

something to work on this winter for sure...

Hi there, fellow Thunderbirds!

Sorry I've been MIA the last few weeks.  I've been busy, busy, busy.  I'm still on track to meet the my challenge goals.  The bike and the run are looking really good.  The swim however...

I did finally log my first swim session of the month during a race this past weekend.  Now I need to get myself to the pool five more times over the rest of the month.  That will be challenging but do-able.

Keep up the great work, everyone!

I did a 2.5 hour ride today plus some swimming. I'm working on catching up on the bike, I've been running a bit more since I got my knee gel last week. 12 more days folks! We are just leaving T2.

I've gotten in some yoga and strength workouts in the past couple of days, and one bike ride. I'm moving this weekend (oh, joy) so that's probably what I'll continue to do, because they're pretty easy to do at home. Once the move is complete, I'll start on the bike and run portions. It'll give me a chance to explore the trails and roads around my new place!

Swim, bike AND run today...not in that order..which is kind of against the point...but whatever...haha

I`m finally starting to feel FIT too! That has been a long time coming let me tell you guys! I was in my run portion today on the treadmill and what used to be absolutely lung busting is lung busting no longer! Gives me hope for my half marathon plan next year! AND I have been starting to be able to do small sets on 45s/50m intervals in the pool again...been waiting a long time to get to that point again! I think I'll try a set of 10x50 on 45s by the end of the month (short course) just to see if I can do it! If I can't get a short course session in once I get home I'll try it to see how it goes long course...or I'll do 5x100 on 135...We will see if I want to feel the pain!

Goooo Thunderbirds!!!

Another hour with the trainer done! I dont actually find it that bad...which probably makes me some sort of masochistic wierdo...but I guess it is technically a good thing....due to the fact that I will be on it from Oct-March/April...

Alright here is some motivation for the last week!

If you have all 4 columns filled and at 100% you will be allowed to include over 100% of your initial goal.

The rules are simple - you must have 4 aspects chosen and you must be at 100% minimum.  This will help your team out for those who ran into obstacles on reaching their goals this month.

Good luck everyone!

ooo that is gonna motivate me to try to get all my swims in! not sure how I'm going to do it, but I'll try to find a way!

So I've had a rough couple days in terms of my race plans. I was planning on doing an Oly and a Sprint on the same weekend at the end of this month. First I find out my Olympic has been moved to October, and I'm moving in a couple weeks so I can't do that one. So I go to sign up for the sprint and its already sold out! It didn't sell out at all last year. And I'm the type of person who always signs up super early.. gah!

In terms of the challenge, this could be another blow to my swim sessions, since each race is like a free session :/

Well as I feared my bike ride was rained out today. I got in some weight lifting instead, but I'm definitely bummed about missing the ride.

Hope the rest of the team has a better start to the weekend!

We had a team mate BozNC get in a bad bike wreck so I put all his current numbers to his goals to make him 100% instead of pulling him off of the team - he was already in enough pain

If anyone thinks this is unfair - PM me and I can delete him - but he would have hit 100% at the rate he was going anyways unless something unforeseen happened (like this bike crash).

I hope this is alright with everyone.  Let me know if not.

Also - give him some inspires to help in his recovery please.

Holy %^*(^*( !   That is so unfortunate ,  Sorry to hear  about  BozNC  getting injured  We all hope he is doing better .

In regards to the challenge goals your solution is totally cool with me .

Tried this Usa triathlon life magazine workout

its on page 57 of the summer 2009 issue if you want more details

essentially :

30 mins ride last 20 at race effort

transition 2 & run 15 mins  race effort

transition 1 to

20 mins bike   last 15 race effort

tansition 2 & run 10  mins race effort

transition 1 to

14 mins ride  last 10  race effort

transition  2 & run 7:30 race finish effort

recovery walk / ride / jog 10-20 mins  easy

Its really cool as you get to rehearse the 2 transitions  and of course to run on bike fatigued legs.

My weekend was totally washed out. Storms the whole time. This has been just a terrible summer in that regard. I did sneak a short outdoor swim in between downpours though.

Hopefully the sun will come out soon and I can get back to biking/running!
