ONE.

i officially registered for the MS150 TODAY.

i know. WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?

i had serious doubts last week as to whether or not i was going to be able to prepare well.  i had a WEEK FROM YOU KNOW WHERE.

but then i took some time to think about someone close to me living w the disease, SO glad i did, cuz i got a wake up call you know.

my bad week came and went.  im SO MUCH BETTER already.

her bad weeks are here to stay.  her MS [short of finding a cure] is never going away.

so im trng and riding for her.

she struggles everyday to do even the simplest of tasks, and i forgot just how blessed i am to be fit and active.

so, time to stop whining, and start pedaling!

onward to the MS150!

Wahoo!  Congrats on registering!  Thank you for riding!  My SIL has MS and it is a dreadful disease.  I was hoping to ride this year but with Bryan deploying, I will probably have to wait until next year.  You will do GREAT Stacie!

thanks ERICA for the vote of confidence.  im SO GLAD that i didnt wuss out.

i talked to my sister in laws sister last night, and im even MORE motivated now to prepare and ride.

everyday is a 150 for her you know.

if you want, PM your sister in laws first name and ill add to my personal list of people that im riding for.

the disease is dreadful your right, but hopefully w rides like the ESCAPE TO THE LAKE they can come closer to a CURE.

no new swimsuit.

im still on the prowl.

i did find a nice dress i want to buy to wear to a family wedding though.

maybe i could swim in a 3/4 length dress???

whadya think?

your right.

maybe not.

crack myself up.

Heh!  That would be a sight to see!   Good luck on your search.

FOUR STORES and STILL no swimsuit.  dagnabit.

what does a girl have to do to get a swimsuit round here.

i KNOW,

go and steal one at the Y.

i didnt find any suits at Marshalls or TJ Maxx unfortunately.  i did find some at Dicks, one thats on sale and one that isnt on sale, but not too bad in price (almost identical to the one GRODY GIRL stole....)

my corns still creamed.

funny story about the dress....

i was trying it on at the store, and the zipper for this particular dress was on the side, and i was having trouble zipping it up

and i thought i couldnt be the size cuz it fit everywhere else

then i though maybe i didnt have the right bra on.  i had an everyday cotton sports bra, that was thicker.

so, i left the store not sure what to think, but as im driving down the road i realized....

even though i changed after my ride, before i got to the store [i did the quick changeroo in the back seat of my SUV w the tinted windows]

in my HASTE i FORGOT to take the heart rate monitor band around my chest right where the dress wouldnt zip.

i still had it on while i was trying on the dress and didnt even realize it.

CRACK ME UP.

THATs why the zipper wouldnt close.

go back later WITHOUT the heart rate monitor on why dont ya?

did you do a reading..bet the heart rate was up at the time you were trying to zip!

FUNNY.

i didnt even notice the HR, BUT it was probably skyrocketing - i was stressing thinking HOW IN THE HE^^ COULD IVE GAINED WEIGHT???  AM I FAT??

and here it was the darn HR strap.  pfffflt!

all that angst for NOTHING.

wplummer - 2009-04-02 6:03 PM ok i am a bit slow here and didnt realize that there is a separate thread for us X-Men. i am will and i am trying to be a super hero this month. today was my first swim since december, and not to bore you with the details, but i am seven weeks out from partial knee replacement. i have a nice scar, and a huge hunk of titanium in my knee. rehab has gone well, and i am ahead of schedule. the surgery has solved a lot of issues with my knee. i have been cleared to swim and bike. running is another month away. i did run a lap at the track last week-it felt great. so i cranked out 500 yds this morning in the water. it felt great to be back in the water. also my first bike ride last night. only eight miles, but every journey starts with one step. lets have a great month of april my fellow X-Men!!!!!

Welcome!  Congrats on the quick recovery!  I hope it continues to go well!
