I just got home from the gym where I managed to knock out my first of hopefully many lifting sessions. I love how weights change my body (for the better) but boy is it the first thing to go when my plate is full!
what am I doing wrong!!?? lifting weights...just wears me out!? Really? I could lift all day long...I'd pay for it the next day but that's what stretching is for, right?! you must be oooone bufffffff gal! |

Master 1632 Almost Canada, WA | Subject: RE: Team #2 - August 4 is More Challenge So I was supposed to swim today but since I only signed up for a few swim sessions (all in the name of slacking...errrr, I mean run focused training plan!) I didn't go but I will be doing a run tonight. Speaking of running ~ shoes that is ~ I got a new pair and wouldn'tchya know it, the dang things cut my heel up. I'm returning the SOBs ASAP as I am NOT dealing with this again (my last pair did the exact same thing.) Needless to say, I WILL be finding another shoe besides Saucony...oh why did my beloved Mizunos have to go and change?! |

Want to know a little secret that not too many people know (except my peeps in CO)...before I got pregnant I was training for a body building show. Needless to say that came to a screeching halt and after I had Sammi, it just didn't interest me anymore and that is when I set my eyes on triathlons! what am I doing wrong!!?? lifting weights...just wears me out!? Master 1632 Almost Canada, WA | Subject: RE: Team #2 - August 4 is More Challenge I'll have to show my hubby those sites ~ thanks!! He thought he wanted to do tris but wanted the option to go off road ~ mmmm, can't do that with a road bike hun! Soooo, he found cyclocross bikes then he found the races and now he's obsessed. He told me at lunch today that I can have the tris...his goal is to get back to the Mainland to do cyclocross races and he has the next 1 1/2 years to train for it! In the meantime, he said he may try his hand at a tri or two but he doesn't want to take that away from ME since it will be really hard for both of us to focus on all 3 disciplines with Sammi still being so young. |

(When's this race?) Want to hear something funny? Good 'cuz you're about to hear it...this all started after he went and looked at motorcycles then comes home and makes a comment about how he needs to get in shape and he's envious of me (really! His words!) doing all these tris and doing so well! I looked at him and (jokingly) told him to get a bicycle instead and start commuting! So began the (secret) internet searches and that is when he discovered cyclocross! As for the jogger and bike trailer...that was my next question (to everyone.) I want to get a bike trailer (or even one that works for both) but have no idea where to start ~ there are so many and I'm paranoid about the safety of 'em. Any ideas or suggestions? (Anyone?) |

He's always supported me the same as your hubby but there were times he got btchy about my training (or who knows what else) so it is such a welcome relief for him to "come around." It's really cool too 'cuz he has that initial excitement going on where you can't get enough of it and is constantly talking about it, looking stuff up on line, etc! PLUS, he's now talking about upgrading my bike since I told him he isn't allowed to get a "better" bike than me! |
