Is there a time limit on fortune cookie predictions?

None that I have ever heard of - I would go with until you eat your next fortune cookie and the new prediction supersedes the old one Laughing

Are we going out for Chinese at lunch?

Chinese sounds delicious.  I could destroy the local china buffet right about now

I could completely abandon the lentil salad I brought and join you.

Sure. Where are we meeting. You're in NJ, I'm in PA. Bill where are you at?

skrtrnr - 2009-11-03 1:57 PM this is the dos and donts list that i go by:

The essentials of the Paleolithic Diet are:

Eat none of the following:

· Grains- including bread, pasta, noodles

· Beans- including string beans, kidney beans, lentils, peanuts, snow-peas and peas

· Potatoes

· Dairy products

· Sugar

· Salt

Eat the following:

· Meat, chicken and fish

· Eggs

· Fruit

· Vegetables (especially root vegetables, but definitely not including potatoes or sweet potatoes)

· Nuts, eg. walnuts, brazil nuts, macadamia, almond. Do not eat peanuts (a bean) or cashews (a family of their own)

· Berries- strawberries, blueberries, raspberries etc.

Try to increase your intake of:

· Root vegetables- carrots, turnips, parsnips, rutabagas, Swedes

· Organ meats- liver and kidneys (I accept that many people find these unpalatable and won’t eat them)

i draw the line at organ meats. and bugs for that matter.

ewwwww.

OK.  i know this sounds UBER rigid, and i think it is.  im not ff this diet to a T.  and i think the basic premise of eating like 'caveman' is super duper WHACK.

so i pick and choose.

it was a place for me 'start' when i was considering changing my eating habits to more clean/whole/non-processed/vegetarian.

im eating as nonprocessed as i am REASONABLY able to from breakfast until dinner time.  then i cook a 'regular' healthy meal at dinner for me and my family.

then of course you have the when your friends are in town for the weekend FRIE AND SLAW LADENED SAMMICH EATING....

moderation is key.

I live off of bread and dairy. If I took those out I'd have nothing left but chicken and nuts. I don't eat veggies, I believe they are evil!

ANN.

when i first read about the diet, i thought holy schmokes.  im gonna DIE w/out bread, especially.

ive made my peace w veggies, but its taken months...so i hear ya.

Hmmm.  I'm a pasta, veggies, rice and beans gal.  Overall my diet is pretty healthy, although when I travel I struggle to get enough protein.  I've been a vegetarian for a couple years so I would starve on this.  But I am totally with you on moderation and tossing all the rules when friends are in town.  I personally think great thin crust cheese pizza and french fries are the world's two most perfect foods.

you had me at great think crust cheese pizza, KIM.though i DO love to load my down w veggies - red onions, red peppers, mushrooms

had to go cold turkey on the FRIES  when i started to lose weight. (except when certain friends are in town...) i have a certifiable addiction.

Just tell me when. Is this just for lunch or should I bring my bike and running clothes as well for a workout weekend?

Workout weekend with food involved.  I know NH BT'ers do a get together every spring - time to be copycats!

If there is food there must be wine, right?

I am a cheap drunk but if you cool cats want some vino - no problemo!  We could meet in wine country of the Finger Lakes Region

I'm your average, ordinary, whine-o. I don't need to drive an extra 2 hours to drink fancy wine. Laughing

I'm off to run gang. Post something entertaining for me to read when I get back.

5 mile run, followed by a session on the Disdaininator for my cool down, followed by a long hot shower.

Good stuff right there ^^^

Hey Ann! I would have tried to keep you entertained, but I think we were out running at the same time! I was able to get 3 miles and change today followed by my first ST session of the month, which included my first meeting with a foam roller. You guys weren't kidding... that thing hurts! My hip flexor does feel a little better though, so I think I will stick with it.

Good question Queenie! Oh so many to choose from... I suppose my fallback is pepperoni and green olives. Not too exciting, but so freaking good. Second place would be a Hawaiian. For crust, it's gotta be hand tossed.

Kim and Tom --> The song is Goodnight Demonslayer by Voltaire, the song Tom posted the words to when he was trying to get to 500 posts. I had made fun of the lyrics when he first posted it, but after listening to the song I liked it.
