I am looking forward to my 100 miler.

Do you have a link for the 100 miler? I'll be doing the Tahoe-Sierra 100 miler this year. Last year, Tinker Jaurez did the 100 miles in just two hours more than it took me to do the 55 miles The course is beautiful, but brutal!

Lunchtime workout is in the books... another double today, but both were short workouts.  Training plan called for bilateral and right-side breathing... I soooo suck at bilateral breathing... and right-side breathing for that matter.  Time to see what kind of slop they're shoveling in the cafeteria.

It is called motivation right Tim??

A friendlier version of motivation than what Dee dishes out with the tasers.

It is called motivation right Tim??
Yeah, yeah, motivation, right

Tim is the Report up yet?
I just did the unoffical one in my training blog. I was feeling pretty good about my results. My time broke down to an average of 1 lap every two hours. Then I took a look at the results and one of Cannondale's factory team rider's did 21 laps. Crap! However, it sure would of been nice to have the support they did. The pros would ride into the pit, hand their bike off to their mechanic, mechanic hands them a new, clean, and adjusted bike, and they were back on the course. No complaints though. There was definately a learning curve. Next one is in July and I'll have a better game plan. The next 24 hour race I'm going to ride for charity, most likely the Wounded Warrior Project.

Well don't beat yourself up too much - just toeing the line there is bravo worthy!!  Plus the pros just ride all the time.  We ride and have to work also

Great job either way.  I am looking forward to my 100 miler.  24 hour next year maybe.  Would love to Moab or the Old Pueblo one!!

Moab is amazing! You have to do it at least once in your lifetime.Best time of year to ride Moab is early spring or late fall. November can even be perfect weather for it. April is pretty crazy with 4x4 traffic though. After that its getting too hot.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

You ladies are just enjoying the view from behind - admit it!!!

Yeah, but if they want to check out our legs, they're going to have to speed up. Then we'll get the good view.

Well its kind of lonely out here by myself. Caught up on posts and even posted a little on the ladies' thread and still haven't got my stars caught up with Bill again. Oh well.  I'll have a month to catch up with him while he's doing his big ride next month.

Got up early and didn't get a workout in. Had the interview so didn't get the lunch workout in. Have a short meeting in about 15 minutes followed by another short one at about 6:45, then one that will go for 2-3 hours that starts at 7:00. Maybe I'll get in a late night run. Depends on how I feel after all the meetings.
By the way, the interview went OK, but nothing stellar. We'll see how it goes. Did find out one thing in my preparation though. I am way underpaid. Average local pay is 10-20k more than what I am getting. Some back east are making 40-50k more. Suddenly I'm not feeling quite so content with my salary.

I slapped some goals in the spreadsheet.  Gonna be another big month!

And I knocked out 2500 in the pool even though the body didn't feel like swimming.

Tim - what do you do for late afternoon/dusk rides - do you bother with lights?

Bill, if I'm going to ride within a couple of hours of dusk, I'll carry a light in my pack. While I most likely won't need it, but you need to protect yourself from the "what-if" factor. What if you had a mechanical or, more realistically in your case, a few flats. Now, you are trying to get home in the dark. It doesn't have to be your regular night set-up, but something to at least get you home safely.
