This thread started when Tebow was 4-1.

John Skelton is 4-1 as a starter and also led the Cardinals to a win over the 49ers after Kolb went down on the first drive of the game. In the other 8 games, the Cards are 2-6.

If winning is all that matters, where is his thread?

Like I said before, it ain't just the wins, it's HOW you win them. That said, if he keeps it up, I'm sure we'll all be Skeltoning soon enough.

Well he also gets style points for HOW he looses them.  If they end up missing the playoffs due to that Bills game which even my pathetic dolphins were able to beat, he will be warming up the bench even sooner than what i predicted.

Don't put the loss to the Bills solely on Tebow.  I'm not so sure that the Broncos coaching staff did their homework.  Then the defense sure didn't do a good enough job...they gave up too many big plays.  I don't often complain about officiating but really, the zebras helped Buffalo at some key points in the game.  And don't forget, Tebow did manage to beat your pathetic fins.

All Tebow needs to do is win this Sunday and he'll be in the playoffs.  Won't be easy cause Orton knows the playbook but I'm pretty sure Tebow will have a good game.

I’m sorry; people can’t have it both ways.  He cannot be praised for winning games after poor performances where his defense played very well to give him a chance at the end of the game, and then not get the blame for playing the way he did against the Bills.

I don't think I ever claimed that the winning streak by the Broncos was solely by design of Tebow.  I also did not say that Tebow did not have any blame for how things turned out on Sunday.  I think I just pointed out that there were many things that contributed to the Broncos losing to the Bills.  It sure wasn't just the play of Tebow.

No doubt. Weird game against a weird Bills team that can't seem to decide if it wants to play or not on any given Sunday. Even with the INT's, I still see progress from Tebow every week in his throwing. He threw some beautiful out's early in that game. And that line gave him absolutely no time, from what I saw. Also don't understand why the one ball that was knocked out of Tebow's hand was ruled an INT when it was clearly a fumble. Ah well, he's 6 - 2 and brought a team back from the dead to having a shot at the playoffs. I don't think he's getting benched anytime soon and even Elway seems to agree now.

You can bet anything that Elway will be carefully analyzing is options at the position. Despite what he might publicly say because of the fan base, he doesn’t trust Tebow and he knows very well he is not the answer for the Broncos to becoming relevant (football wise) once again.  He will say that he supports him, but he is analyzing every possible option present with the draft, and most likely they will draft a QB.

He is currently 6-3, another loss and he is 6-4 with a 3 game loosing streak and out of the playoffs.  The season will be summarized by an incredible streak and then kind of a choke at the end when expectations rose.  This kind of balancing was to be expected, when there are incredible highs with subpar performances you can always count with the lows following.

...and on a side note... can Brady Quin become anymore irrelavent in the NFL?

Another win and he's 7 - 3, and he's taken a dead team to the playoffs as a first year starter. We can play that game all week long.

I'm a die hard Seminole fan, and I love Timmy Touchdown.  I hope he succeeds.  I don't think he will ever be an all pro, but I hope he has a long career as an NFL QB.

In this day and age of arogant athletes, where the major stories are of professional athletes being greedy and engaging in less than stellar personal behavior, it is refreshing to see a young man who seems to stand for all the right things.

He seems to be a genuine and good guy, and that's why I route for him.  I can point to him and tell the young people in my life, see you can be successful and live life the right way too.

So yes I route for Tebow, even though he was a Gator.

It looks like the Broncos will be led to the postseason by a QB. Fans can just ignore the fact that the quarterback is Phillip Rivers.

Awful game for Tebow today, in part due to a truly atrocious offensive game plan. They didn't even let him play.

That said, he helped take a losing team to the playoffs. And as the Packers showed last year as the sixth seeded team in the NFC, all you have to do is get in to have a shot.

No sense wasting your miracles until you really need to use them.

Chiefs did a great job keeping linebackers in to contain Timmy. Tight man coverage against average recievers made it easy to shut him down. 6-22, 1 int, 16yds rushing.

I think the template of how to beat DEN is written and available.

Chicago showed how to beat them for 55 minutes. Keep him in the pocket and and don't let him throw underneath. Right now he can't beat you deep consistently.

If Tebow is to have a chance in this league he has to develop a deep ball and that is one of the hardest things to develop.

On a related note, i'm pretty sure I could throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs as  Green Bay Packer QB.

I think the problem with the game plan is that they don't trust him throwing the ball, and when he does throw it you can see why...

Denver can play next week with 13 players on the field while on offensee that it won't make a difference against the Steelers.  This playoff appearance the only thing it guarantees for them is a crappier position in the draft....same thing those last few victories did for my Phins

agreed.  The Denver game plan seemed to be more to avoid turning the ball over then it was to score.  Fox really screwed up be trading Brandon Lloyd, by far the best receiver on the Bronco roster, and trading him for a 6th round pick the week before he named Tebow as starter.  Royal is quick but he plays like a kid afraid of getting tackled.  The entire receiving core is pretty mediocre and really don't help the Tebow situation. Then Elway made a bonehead decision by letting Orton go and he ends up with a division rival.  As it turns out it really does not matter because the Raiders lost so they backed in.  As a Bronco fan yes, disappointed in Tebow some...but really disappointed with Fox!  Curious to see what game plan he pulls from his arse...is he going to play to win or play to NOT turn the ball over.

As you said, once in the playoffs anyone has a shot.  D's best shot is for a major snowstorm to  move in and to play in a blizzard!

Great guy......absolutely horrible NFL quarterback.  If you can't pass from the pocket, you can't play QB in the NFL....it's that simple, and Tebow can't.  IOt isn't High School football, and it isn't College football.  Tim Tebow is not going to change the game by the way HE plays as he has at the other levels.  It's soon to be over for him as QB.  I'd like to see him as a fullback or tight end.

Ray, we could put Timmy in a hot tub time machine and have him throw to Rice and Monk in the '80's, Moss and Irvin in the '90's...and it still wouldn't work.

He can't throw.  He just can't.  If Fox wasn't slowing the game down (a-la Pete Carroll's old Princeton Tigers) the Broncos would be getting dusted every week.  Ball control and field position.  Fox knows what he's got...unfortunately for Bronco fans, the rest of the league has figured Tebow out.

If God truly supports Tim Tebow, there will be a massive blizzard on game day.  It's Denver's only hope against Pittsburgh.  That said, I will be rooting for Denver...love the underdogs!!!

I critically watched him vs. the Chefs. (Game was SO bad nothing else to watch). They kept 2 linebackers in to hold the line of scrimmage and keep him in the pocket. Their coverage was straight man. Worked perfectly since Tebows only threat (running) was completely neutralized.

Also, Timmy could not hit the open side of a reciever. Almost always high with his throws. Indicitave of a low release (think of the trajectory angles).

Not only that, he doesn't read his recievers. He stares down the primary and that's it.

As for snow, the Steelers have traditionally won in bad weather. Some of the worst weather have been their greatest wins. Snow won't save the Raunchos.

Maybe. Mendenhall is out for the rest of the season, but this team runs by committee pretty well. Almost Shanahan like with interchangeable backs. Ben MAY struggle with footing, but he'll crush your upset dreams like a rogue grape in aisle 12.

Ryan Clark will be missed, but since Timmy can't throw, safety isn't a critical spot on Sunday.

They simply are not ready for prime time. It's ridiculous the Broncs win a division with 3 teams at 8-8 and the 12-4 Steelers have to travel to them... but it happens every year.

It has been a positive year, that is about all that can be said. Tebow will get better or he won't. Broncos will stick with him or they won't. They still need a offense, they still need a defense... there is still plenty of work to do. Just happy we are moving ina positive direction. We shall see what Fox can do next year.

Something to ponder for the Tebow/Bronco haters...seems that most everyone is not giving Denver any shot at all to win at home this weekend.  Surely Fox is hearing the same comments.  maybe he starts Quinn and continues to use him in passing situations?  Not so far out there when you consider he has changed the offense to better fit Tebow.  What's there to lose when all the experts say you will lose anyway?  While the steeler's may not respect the throwing game of Denver this would surely open some things up.  And if it was enough to keep the game close...say maybe Denver within 14 in the 4th, we all know what Tebow can do when the other team is guessing.  I kind of like Denver's chances.  Shoot...maybe Tebow will have his best come from behind victory of his career.  It's going to be fun to watch!

Ray, the only way Quinn sees the field is if Tebow gets knocked out of the game.  You can't pull Tebow from the game...he's the man.

I can't wait to watch it!

Now, let's play "what if."  What if the Broncos get demolished?  Is it easier to create an open competition for the starting qb position next pre-season?  What if the Broncos shock the world and beat the Steelers?  No matter what would happen in the next round of the playoffs, I think Tebow cements the starting job for Week 1 next season with a W this weekend.

Ray, the only way Quinn sees the field is if Tebow gets knocked out of the game.  You can't pull Tebow from the game...he's the man.

I can't wait to watch it!

If the Broncos have a chance this week, it will be their defense that gives it to them. They are playing a team with no running back and a QB with one and a half legs. If Von Miller is still in that cast, it won't be good for them. Their nickel defense had been run all over since his injury and the Steelers run out of a lot of 3 wide sets.

What are the current odds that Harrison gets a personal foul for a hit on Timmy? Even money?

rayd - 2012-01-03 8:14 PM Something to ponder for the Tebow/Bronco haters...seems that most everyone is not giving Denver any shot at all to win at home this weekend.

Maybe, it's possible, a girl can dream.... it isn't probable. On paper Steelers are going to eat them alive. I don't hate my team, I'm just a realist. And yes... we all know... "that's why they play the game"... but this isn't Tebows game to win or loose... it's Denver's... and Denver simply does not match up with the Steelers on paper.

The same thing happened with Shanahan, and the same thing happened with McDaniels... teams simply have no film on you and have no way to game plan you... you get away with some stuff and win some games... later in the season teams have film and every game is important... winning streak comes to an end.

I like what I saw this season. We have some good players, we are still rebuilding. If the Broncos have a single brain cell in the whole organization they will spend every second in the off season  working with Tebow and either make him or break him. Nobody can deny he is a stand up guy and a exciting player. We will see if he can be a QB in the NFL.
