Veteran 376 Medford Lakes, NJ | Subject: RE: Suz and Steph - We are FULL... and off to train! I missed my Sunday workout. I had to work until 5AM and slept through my run window and my Yoga class. Still trying to get that full weeks worth of work outs. It wont happen next week either as I leave for vacation next Sunday. I doubt I will be doing much exercising besides lifting umbrella drinks. My goal for this week is to make the rest of my workouts and add two ab work outs on Tuesday and Thursday. Here is the link to the workout.. it is called Around the world, I call it pain in my abs.
Happy Monday --Marcus |

Happy Monday --Marcus Working until 5am, that's gotta be tough. Sounds like you will be traveling to some sunny warm location for your vacation. Lucky you! Enjoy the rest and relaxation (but bring your running shoes just in case) |

Expert 961 Illinois _ Chicago area | Subject: RE: Suz and Steph - We are FULL... and off to train! So here I am, home sick. Looks like I've been hit with the flu. (I am unable to get both the flu shot or mist vaccine) Took some tylenol about a hour ago so I can actually sit upright for a while. I don't get sick very often, in fact I can't remember the last time I took a "sick" day from work where I was actually sick. But, my classroom has been a cesspool of nastiness, so it was bound to get me sooner or later and it hit me yesterday afternoon. I was very tired and sore in the morning yesterday and thought it was due to my run on Sat. I slogged through spin class, no energy. By the afternoon I was running a fever. UG! I hope everyone else is feeling healthy. Seeing good goals for the week so far. My goal is to feel better and not let this bug keep me down too long, but to also be safe and give my body time to adequately rest and recover. I am seeing the doctor this afternoon to see about taking Tamiflu. Anybody ever take that for the flu? Did it help? Susie |

Stephanie Steph, Congrats on the half and your husband for the goofy challenge. One of my running buds did the Goofy challenge as well. He had a blast but is a bit sore today. Rest easy on those legs. |

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! My workouts for the week went well. I was able to swim, bike and run. Yesterday I ran 4 miles on the trail and biked bike 13 miles. I am starting to feel comfortable on my first road bike. I ran a half marathon today and place 3rd in my age group. I hope everyone has a great week!
Getting an age group aware is awesome but doing it in a HM rocks!!!!! Great Job. |

Just an FYI...spinning bikes are a cesspool as well especially if the person before you didn't wipe off their bike. As bad as this sounds, I have been wiping my bike off before I ride as well as after. I am not afraid of germs but trying not to get the flu this year. |

New user 8 | Subject: --- Oh no Susie! Get well soon. My students are back next Tuesday, and I am hoping I can avoid getting something from them...eek! My goal for the week is to stay on track with the training plan---try maybe 2 swim days and get some core work in. That link to the ab exercises couldn't have come at a better time. (thanks!!) I managed to be down 2 lbs today and am thrilled. I've been working on diet and tracking via LiveStrong's MyPlate app on my phone. I also got a fantastic second hand Omega Juicer last week that is making that veggie intake all the easier! Loving that green green juice. I think the regularity of the swimming, biking, and running with tri training is a perfect fit for my personality. It keeps me interested. I did get my Friel book in----Your First Triathlon----but I'm not sure about his training plans yet. I am enjoying the pace of the one I got from this site and may just stick with it. Good Luck this week everyone!

I don't know what Tamiflu is...I have been lecturing my kids about staying healthy, rest, fluids, hand washing, blah blah blah and I am the one who got sick! Stomach virus - haven't had one of those in forever - ugh - feeling much better now. Hoping I got the 24 hour version.

New user 35 Portland, OR | Subject: RE: Suz and Steph - We are FULL... and off to train! ConnieVisc - 2013-01-14 10:02 AM Thanks Julia! What do you wear on your bike rides in the colder weather? I have a pair of bike shorts and I usually wear a running top. I have been freezing between the colder wearher and wind. A mid-weight base layer (top & bottom - bike pants over those sometimes), with a running shirt and loose pants over top, and just a light rain shell (with vents!) over that for wind. I usually bring along a fleece just in case but I never need it. Fleece gloves & a headband for my ears. A scarf if it's really really cold. One thing I've found hard to do is bike in my bike shoes when it gets below 40F. My feet just get cold & numb - so when it's that cold I get out my old mountain bike & head out in hiking boots & wool socks. Good times!! -Julia |

One day I want to do a Disney Race. Probably not the Goofy Challenge, (but never say never), more like the Princess Half. |

Funny you should say that... I drove home from Orlando yesterday... had been sneezing... and by yesterday afternoon I was DOWN. I am sweating, chills, my whole body aches (in addition to the half marathon soreness) I hope we both feel better soon. Disney may be magical, but it's a giant petri-dish for germs. |
