A great time was had at the BT get together yesterday!...

It's always a fun time meeting the Donks and Donkettes!

I needed to do something today, so decided to blast in 2300 yards swimming.  I don't feel that bad either!

EEEEAAAAWWWW!!!

Help -

I am trying to figure out my January run totals - My January log says one total and my 2008 one shows a different total - just the miles part.  All of the hours are identical in both logs. Any ideas?

When I look at your log I see the same thing Posted for January as I do for the 2008 totals. (there is the December data listed between the two).

Can you post a screen print of what you are seeing?

I got it figured out yesterday and fixed it - my miles for Trailbreaker  were in my April log so that is what threw it off.

What is everyone's plans this week???

I still keep my RN license and moonlight a few nights a week at an Urgent Care center.  It pays for my Tri addiction.

40 minute run in the snow complete.  Knees a little sore from the slip sliding, but fun none the less.  Just don't look at my pace.

Crazy - do you have yak tacks or any other type of studs?

Nope, no studs on the shoes.   Hence the sliding.  Knee definitely took a beating though and is sore today so my recovery run turned into a recovery walk followed by foam roller time and stretching.

Scott,

Remember, running in snow and ice adds new  lateral forces to your hips and knees that take time to build up.  Take it easy at first or you may get hurt.

It's a long time between now and High Cliff!

1200 yards swim this afternoon at the quickest I have completed it at.  Tomorrow, at least 2200 swimming yards to complete my swim challenge goal.  Then, basketball with the kids the rest of the weekend and emcee our local Cub Scouts' Pinwood Derby on Sunday.  This would be my 5th year and it's always a blast.

I am chipping away at my 100 miles challenge. I think I am around 80 right now. Gotta teach tonight, tomorrow and Friday. Then I have Spin and Spin training on Saturday - Sunday is going to be an "easy" day. Anyways plan a 6-8 run tomorrow and at least one run over the weekend, maybe 2.

Great job, lrun...

At lunch today -
10 x 50 - 54 sec. each hard/avg., w/30 to 60 sec. rest in between.
4 x 100 - 2:04, 2:06, 2:08, 2:06, w/30 to 60 sec. in between.
2 x 50 - 49, 48, with 60 sec. rest in between.
2 x 50 cool down - around 64 sec. each.

Birkie had a good swim plan the other day and I modified it.  Boy, it was a good one, too!

Only have 1100 more swim yards to finish this month's challenge go, so I'll do a nice and easy 2nd swim workout tonight after work to complete it.

EEEAAAWWWW!!!

Today (Sat.)  a touch over 7 miles ran, after switching my rest day to Thursday and my long run to today.

Tomorrow, 90 minute ride.  Not going to be able to make the DTC, so I am going to be hitting up the drainer in the basement and hopefully finding a good movie to watch.

Craig,

You were right about the snow and ice running.  It did a number on the knee, but the upside is that I learned some good new stretches and they have helped a ton.  I have done a good amount of foam roller work on my IT band and it really seems to help tons.  On todays run, my knee didn't start bugging me until about the 55 minute mark.  I hit the roller as soon as I was done and did some other stretches and it feels much better.

Thanks a lot, I can imagine that 2 hours off spinning would do that.

Yeah - I was a pretty lazy spinner by the end and I started standing a lot more to ease the "pain"

Completed 2200 yards swimming earlier tonight.  Completed and bypassed my month's challenge goal.

Feb. coming around very quickly - I hope that the weather is better since I need to get back into some running.  All the swimming improved my upper-body and cardiovascular, but I need to get the legs going again!

This is a shameless post pad since I wanted to end the night with our total thread count at an even 200.  That "199" just didn't look right to me.
