As far as the festvals. The student Emmys. We are trying for sundance but I think we missed the cut off but possibly tv los angeles film festival. joemac3 - 2008-09-24 8:36 AM kaqphin - 2008-09-23 3:10 PM When I graduate I will be getting a degree in television production with an emphasis in post-production editing. From the school of cinema and television arts at California state university Northridge. How is that for a mouthful. Can't wait to be done in december. And wish me luck I just had one of my short films entered in 3 film festivals. I hope I place. joemac3 - 2008-09-24 7:54 AM art films of the 1920's from Europe are so boring I can't take it. It's so hard to stay awake I know the film course is part of your degree... but whats the overall degree? Oh my - its like talking my family... my brother and I both have the same degree... his in television and mine in radio - both hands on qualifications so he went straight into field directing/producing and I went into radio production... So im just wondering what 1920s documentary has to do with post production editing? Illustration of styles and techniques??
Good luck with the festival - any one I would know? Ive spent long mornings at the post office with my brother sending out short films all over the world... Ive told him if he gets accepted somewhere like France Id love to come That all sounds good to me!!! The coolest thing about Sundance is every year they take a few random film makers and give them a chance! Its not just the established production teams. Those theory classes sound nuts... I will be thankful that we didnt really have to do anything like that... history and ethics (being broadcasting) and stuff like that but was always linked back to creating an execution and an evaluation of how that would relate to our work rather than dates, facts, figures etc... So you didnt have to spend a lot of time with stuff you couldnt relate to.. if that makes sense...and being really hands on ALWAYS makes things much more interesting!
That is a nice thing about sundance. And I feel very lucky that all but 3 classes are production for my major. So I only really have 3 theory classes. I just can't stand them. I will never understand what makes expeimental and art films so great |
