Well, I can't tell you what EVERYONE is doing this weekend, with a few billion people on this earth, it's hard to keep track , but I can tell you that I'll be jockstrapping at a race tomorrow for some Donkai Nation teammates. I'm a member of a group of BT members, most of who are from Wisconsin, that call themselves the Donkey/Donkai Nation, or Donkeys, or Donks. We're a lively bunch. This is the race and it's a blast - |

Master 1529 | Subject: RE: PT Freaks Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge oh I just mapped it and would be about 4 1/2 hours, I'm thinking that kind of pushes the limit for a beer run. Does sound like fun though! |

I wonder what a last minute flight to Wisconsin would cost, that looks like a blast, i would do it just for the T-shirt!!! Last year's t-shirt was an ugly color. BLECH! I hope they do better, even if I'm not running the race. ETA - the beer is tasty, but leaves a slight aftertaste. Edited by 1stTimeTri 2008-11-07 11:26 AM |

This is the race and it's a blast - What no brats or cheese curds?? Kinda funny they don't, but do provide to all participants 2 tickets to get 2 free taps, and a lasagna dinner. The 1/2 barrel, a.k.a 1/2 Mary, participants receive a medallion which is cool, too. |

Sort of, I'm going to hang out in one of the 'hoods I'm considering, trying to get a feel for it. I might call some real estate brokers today as well and get the ball rolling. I need to stop avoiding it and just get it started. |

There is one down in the DC area that I'd like to do next year called Run Amuck, it's an obstacle 5K that involve crawling through the mud. My kind of race! |

It's not that far at all. I've done the drive from Berrien Springs, MI, about 30 miles north of South Bend, to Madtown a few times. It's about 4-4.5 from Michigan so figure a little closer for you. It takes about 2 hours from Chicago, I usually just fly there and have someone pick me up. My family is in Madison now so I'll find myself spending a bit of time there. |

I have a few friends in Brooklyn and everyone is being helpful. I guess I always relied on my husband to make it comfortable for me to live here so on one hand, it is exciting to think I can do it on my own, and on the other, I don't really know anything else. I'm looking at some great neighborhoods and it will be cheaper than where I am now, so I'm sure it will all work out once I get past the initial change. When I left my ex of 6 years and moved to a new city, the very first thing I did was bake cookies (just cut-off-a-roll ones) in my new apartment. It was immediately filled with a new, wonderful, homey smell and it made it welcoming right away. I have to say that as soon as I could start cooking in our new place, it really helped! |
