Wow...I've got to really concentrate on getting 17 strokes/25. You must be cruising to get good balance and glide at 14 strokes... The more I hang around you guys the more i need to work. I never though about stroke count, now I will have to think about it next time. my only advice is not to try and focus on too many things at once if you can find a swim coach or even a clinic where you could have your stroke analyzed that would be very helpful x2. Concentrate on one area at a time. Otherwise, you'll end up wanting to bang your head against the wall and never get in the pool again! |

Pretend that someone is trying to pull your feet out of the water by the heels, one at a time. Lift up with your heel(while your toes are pointed), then relax it and do the same with the other foot. Small, but quick! |

Nifty! I'm scared to have it done. I'd probably rip my own stroke to pieces and have a huge complex when ever I tried to swim again. |

Another way to think about is to lay on the floor or your bed and do the flutter kick, just enough to tap your feet against the surface. Feel how you have to lift up? And the floor or bed won't let you kick deep. That's what you need to do in the water. |

LOL - you'd probably be fine I found it pretty helpful and actually was surprise the lack of ripping up I did - course I've been out of the arena of teaching for a long time so, i'm out of practice |
