LazyMarathoner - 2008-08-29 9:45 AM Anyone have fun holiday plans?

A weekend of being or hosting visitors for various meals. Hopefully not too packed with running around.

Oh and temps are supposed to drop 20 degrees so I should feel more like getting out to train... I'll save the best for Monday since it'll be SEPTEMBER!

Nice! I love fall. September, October and November are my favorite months of the year!

Speaking of swimming, I did a mile with one arm today. Just think how strong my right arm will be when my rehab is over!

wow. one armed mile...I have yet to do a two armed mile!

maybe you should take up softball and be the pitcher?

Ha! Right! But then I'd probably blow out my ACL or something ridiculous.

Oh, and there were breaks in the mile, I did it in multiple sets. I'm not sure I'll be attempting a continuous one-armer!

Oh, it's not Fall yet, temps were 108 yesterday so dropping 20 degrees only brings us to normal summer....

Good lord! I would have shriveled up and died by now! Where the heck do you live? Arizona?

NYC is already fall-like. It's still hitting 80 during the day, but the nights and mornings are unbelievable. 65-70. I need to live in a place where it is always 70. To me, that is perfect.

We haved cooled down from the beginning of the month when it was 105 here in Oklahoma. Now we are just in the mid to upper 90 for highs. I can't wait for it to cool down some more but I have to say the 67 in the mornings have been nice to run in.

Is everyone at happy hour? I will be shortly after I finish getting a pedi. Triathletes have pretty nasty feet! I always have to explain at least 2 abnormalities - missing toenail, cuts, bruises...

No happy hour for me.  It's only noon-thirty here.  So, will someone at happy hour drink a glass of wine for me?

Unfortunately I'm a beer swilling pig so no pinas for me! That's why I have to do triathlon, it's the only sport that burns through the carbs I drink Yum.

Not only did I have to pay, but I had to tip 40% and pull the guy (yes, a guy) aside and give him a pep talk so he wouldn't have to leave and throw up half way through! I swear I wouldn't be surprised if they brought out a chainsaw for me. This sport is kind of unflattering if I do say so myself!

swilling beer works too.   Never had a pina 'til my inlaws served them up in OceanCity MD.  I see the appeal of a sweet cold icy on a hot beach day.

Ocean City and a pina colada sounds pretty good to me! I rarely turn away any fermented beverages

While I may not be doing so on the beach, and probably won't be drinking a pina colada, I will likely be drinking wine or beer on an island tonight.  That's similar, right?

Edit: The above statement reads "brag, brag, brag", but I'm really just in one of those "I'm so lucky to be living my life" moods .

Brag away! If I could be sipping wine on an island I would be too. And I'd be rubbing it in to anyone willing to listen!

Yay!!! I got a picture loaded for my avatar.

Great avatar!  I need to upgrade mine.

Thanks.  I took this picture in Roswell, New Mexico which is near "Area 51".  This is what all the light poles look like throughout the town.  There are lots of Alien souvenirs and shops EVERYWHERE.  We drove through there on our way down to Carlsbad Caverns, which was outstanding!!

LazyMarathoner - 2008-08-29 9:45 AM Anyone have fun holiday plans?

I'm going to Napa Valley, California tomorrow until Tuesday.  My Mother-in-Law and lots of friends live there so I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.  Tuesday through Thursday, we'll be in Grass Valley, CA visiting more friends.  We own property there and plan to build a house for when we retire.  Thursday, we go to Reno for the Great Reno Balloon Races.  We own a balloon and will be flying.  My Mom, Sister, Nephew and Brother live in Reno.  My Dad, StepMom and StepSister will be flying in from Indiana.  Friday afternoon, my Niece will be getting married in Kings Beach on the North side of Lake Tahoe.  So, whew, we'll be VERY BUSY.

I'm not sure how much time I'll get on-line so I won't be able to help with the post padding (or our challenge progress until I get back).
