Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: Super Cats, Under Dogs and Anthropomorphic Super Heroes serendipity - 2009-04-01 8:17 AM I am making progress on swimming, biking and running, but after March's challenges I think the most developed muscle in my body is in my right index finger. (Click reply, click submit, click reply, click submit...) well done, carry on...between all those runs/bikes and swims you have scheduled of course! |

Patience and consistency is the key!!
Yeah, I understand about not pushing too hard, but you still have to push hard enough. I started out with my first few months of the year going nice and slowly, hitting the gym frequently, but not with lots of intensity. Now I'm going just as often, but pushing myself a little harder. This is more of a recovery week for me though, unfortunately. At least until I get over my cold. sounds like you are doing the right things..but dont go toooo hard! you dont want to injure yourself or burn out! |

YIKES! you round the first corner and look straight up...and that was just the start! I did pre-run the course a few times...and on race day...seems to help a lot! so hoping you can go pre-ride/run the course! you will do fine! powerwalk some of those hills! sometimes powerwalking can beat out running it! and will save some energy for the rest of the race! On your right | Subject: RE: Super Cats, Under Dogs and Anthropomorphic Super Heroes Tasers aren't that bad. I had a friend of mine jab me with her personal protective shock thing once because I was curious about how strong it was. The flying fish-hook tasers are a bit different though. I probably wouldn't volunteer for a shocking from them. The worst thing about my cold, is that I feel worst in the AM, which is normally when I get my best workouts in. So I feel all dreadful and it takes until after lunch until I can breath withouth coughing so much, but from 12:30 until 4:30 the daycare at the gym is closed, so no workouts then. Well, I do put ankle weights on sometimes and run up and down my stairs. The cats find this wicked amusing and give me extra condescending looking stares. As far as getting burned out, I'm not worried about that at all. I played (American) football for 10+ years and have never been able to get back into working out because I haven't had a tangible goal for it. But now being in a sport with an in-season and an off-season, and being in training again has made it much more fun, easier, and motivating to keep working out. Besides, there are few better feelings than wanting to throw up from a workout, unless it's waking up for a midnight glass of water, then sleeping on the couch because your legs are too sore to want to go back up the stairs again to get in bed. |

There's an off-season? Nobody told me there was an off-season! Oh, wait, there were those few months of "base-building". |
