If so - training "officially" started this week.....seems like only yesterday I was standing in line to sign up wondering if I really was nuts to undertake this! I am doing a 20 week program...so technically not starting until 4/26, but will definitely be building prior to that just nothing concrete. |

The first week is always easy but so far so good! I'm on a 30 week plan: Don Fink's Intermediate Plan. Are you doing the same? I ask since you did the same workout today and yesterday as me. I wonder if ARides is doing the same? Congrats getting up early to do the swim yesterday ... I can't do that, yet. Luckily, masters swim is on Tues/Thurs evening so at least I have that covered. Good luck and stay healthy! |

Every day missed already makes me nervous. Another couple of months and I will be a total basket case. Take care of your back!!! First week of my 1/2 Iron plan last year and my back went out. I didn't have the core and back strength to support my increased workouts. I was out of commission for 6 weeks during prime training time. It ruined my summer. Try not to "make up" your workouts - at least that's what I've been told. Good Luck! Edited by dar89 2010-02-17 11:08 PM |

Regular 54 Lemont, | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Yes, I'm doing the Intermediate plan as well. I've built in a little extra riding time as that is my biggest weakness and I have a heavy clunker of a bike. If I'm going to get myself and it up the hills in Madison, I'm going to need lots of time in the saddle! Don Fink's plans are the only 30 week ones I found (which was one of the reasons I like it) other than coaches or customized plans so I imagine most people that started this week are doing one of his three levels. I have a constant battle with the pool walkers and standers so that's usually motivating enough to get up at 4:30 to beat everyone to the gym. It isn't supposed to open until 5:30 but last year an employee told me she opens it early "for the working people" (said as if I just choose to be up so early and don't also have a job - haha). So now, I get there extra early and wait in the parking lot with a few other goofy people! Good luck with your training! |

But in the end, everything worked out. |

Member 61 | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Yep, I'm using a Don Fink plan - doing the competitive program (not trying to be competitive, just going for the plan with the most hours), however, I'm planning on running a marathon in a couple weeks, so I will join in on week 4 and replace all of the running in my first couple weeks with LOTS and LOTS of biking! |

Member 41 | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread myself and another training partner were on the 2/5/10 list, but noticed we were not on the 2/12 list. I emailed AND called the IRONMAN World Headquarters. I have since received a phone call and return email stating that I was in, and not to worry. You are not the only one for sure.............I put the original list into an excel sheet, copied the new list over, and it was short about 142 peeps. Not sure what happened. They told me on Friday to check back in a couple days as they would be updating the list. Looks like they only do that on Friday's tho. The only thing I can figure out is that active.com had the screw up during registration and charged peeps an additional $26? Idk, maybe this had to do with it? Anyway, I have stepped back off the ledge since talking with them and receiving another confirmation email. I'm in! |

South of Neenah just a bit, about half way across. In the picture you see Christmas trees. Not sure why they are out there. I think they leave them there when the ice melts to make fish habitat. There were a lot of snow mobilers out as well as people driving their trucks to ice shacks. |

Interestingly, I got an email from active.com about three weeks ago saying that they were working on my request to cancel my registration. I nearly $hit myself. Called Active.com right away and they told me the email I had received had actually been sent from IMMOO itself - contact the director. I promptly called them and they couldn't figure out who generated the email, but assured me that I was still registered. Now I'm no longer on the list. Knuckleheads. I guess I'll have to check the list later this week. What a pain! |

Yeah, I still have the original confirmation email and hardcopy paperwork - I'm sure it's just some technical goof up on their end. My brother, of course with the same last name, is no longer on the list this time, either. Maybe it has something to do with last name? Two of my friends, both scheduled to race, are still on the list. Their last names start with F and B. FWIW, my last name is Wolfe. |
