adbru - 2010-08-09 2:36 PM Hi Guys,

new max distance on the bike today, 48.4 miles with 2300feet of climb !!

I'm now happy i could do the 56miles next month, however the run afterward might be a problem lol.

I now REALLY need to work on the swim, its no good being able to bike and run if you dont finish the swim...

hope everyone else is still training hard.

Adrian

Nice ride!

Nice work.

Well I signed up for the 70.3.  8 weeks to train.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to die.  Oh well. I survived the Xterra so pretty sure I can survive this....we shall see.  I can always quit while I'm ahead but I just want to finish.

You can do it! Just have to pace yourself properly and make sure you take in nutrition....DO NOT do what I did an not take in any sugar after 9.5km of the run. I thought I was, but I really just wasn't paying attention. Haha. Note to self: Take more sugar in to err on the side of caution rather than not enough!

I hope so.  I can also change my mind to the Oly if I want too.  I figured I have already been training for this but I just need to step it up. Missed my bike ride last night because I forgot my shorts. By the time I got home I couldn't be bothered and my ear was bugging me   Tonight however IT'S ON!

Triathlynne    Go for it !!

I am now getting a little nervous for my 70.2 in 26 days time Cool
Looking at my training I have had no consistency and I sure dont have the volume in it !

I am hoping to get under 7 hours (on the bike by 1hr, on the run by 4:45, leaves 2:10 for the run...)
Did a brick this morning (10mile/3mile) which wasnt too bad.
Swim tomorrow morning (2km) and maybe a run later.

Just making up the plan as I go along  Embarassed   lol.

Well done!  I need to get my act together and get on my bike.RIGHT NOW INFACT! have the day off and the weather here is gorgeous, so I think I might ride to the lake and swim and ride home again.

Had a great run last night. Broke a new 5K PR. Not fast but for me it's good and I'll take it.

Booked my trip to San Diego. That's in 3 weeks for a 1.5 mile swim in the Pacific @ La Jolla. I am super excited!  Hope everyone is training hard!

Did you do your bike/swim  the  other day ??
The swim in the pacific sounds fab, i have my swim in the north atlantic in 3 weeks time !   brrrrrrrrrrr

Mrs A thinks I have finally lost my mind as I said I was going to cycle into work today.
"Lots of people cycle to work " says I
"Yeah your work is 30 miles each way you nutter !! "  Innocent

Did it in 1:50 , wasnt to bad but going home tomorrow is going to hurt as its net uphill all the way !!
about 1800feet of ascent, mainly a steady small gradient with a few nasty bits in it.
I will defo take longer than 1:50 going home !!   lol.

Hope everyone is well, I am now starting my taper (might be stir-crazy by this time next week.....)

I did bike and swim. Was a great day too.  Now it's peeing it down. Back in Scotland almost. lol.

Going for a bike fit next Friday. My back on my bike bothers just far too much so I really need to get it done. Can't ride more than 20 miles without my legs tingling etc.

Just discovered the swim is only a mile which I'm glad about. I'm crapping myself about sharks and jellyfish now.

North Atlantic?  Hope yer swimsuit is knitted. lol

Dont worry about the sharks, they all got eaten by the orca's Wink

Did my bike today, it was only 7'c when i set out !! Plus it was heavy rain showers and strong gusting winds Cry
did 32 miles and then stuck a 3mile run on the end.
legs felt ok but still got a sore right shin, might be an early warning of shin splints starting again...
will need to be careful for the next 2 weeks, dont think i'll manage/risk another 10 miler before my 70.3.

I guess Mel must be living the high life in Victoria..... (lucky devil ! ) I'd love to be back there

train safe and watch out for those orca's Innocent

Morning All,

Its been a strange few days, got eaten by mossies on thursdays bike ride and had the start of a sore throat.
Decided to go ahead and do my local sprint tri yesterday as practise for my 70.3 next weekend.

Delighted with my result as I took 8 mins ! of my pb , thats a 10% improvement !!

However my sore throat looks like its now gone to tonsillitis with a big white lump on one side of my throat Cry

Will fon the docs this morning and see if I can get some antibiotics to sort it out, otherwise my big race might be in jepardy ....   (damn well better not be after 6 months of training !! )

race report for yesterday is up in my race log if you fancy a gander

Hey guys!

Nice job on all those races!

I have been quite busy. 2nd year started off with a bang and its just a gong show. I'm no longer in Victoria...back in Edmonton and it is already starting to get cold. Brrr. Heading down to San Fran for my marathon in a few weeks. Then having some down time (just swimming for 4-6weeks) before getting back on the horse to start IM training.

Hi Guys,

got my last two races of the season next weekend (9th/10th).
Just short local races for fun :-)

Not sure what I'm planning as my 'A' race for next year yet, probably another HIM ....

Have a safe and injury free winter
