Robyn, should I push beyond what my training plan calls for?  I can do so, but I'm wondering how much more I should do?

My fitness *is* currently better than what my plan assumes, since it's a 20 week plan, and it just started a few weeks ago.

I can only imagine what you will look like in a very small red bikini.....

I feel confident in my team, and I'm sure they wont let me down.

Just gimme a time goal.  That will do nicely.

I say, do what you can do, as long as you take the proper recovery time.  Don't over do it, because you might burnout.  And that's worse than an injury... IMO.

Okay this is your last opportunity to give up. I would feel real bad if you lost and had to wear that REALLY small bikini that I will be sending you to wear.

This is your last opportunity.

denny.l - 2008-01-09 8:27 AM Outstanding! That video makes me want to share how I plan to K(m)YOA. Running is my challenge this year so Starting next week: Run 6 miles (three x 2) Swim 2x Bike 2x I'm not putting any requirements on the bike and swim distance because of time constraints. (there is that excuse again) As much as I'm committed to training for triathlon, I'm choosing to make my son my number one priority. SO..there it is guys! Hey Alan, Way to go on the trip to the pool this morning. Make the choice to have an outstanding day! Les

Can you put some time or distance goals on that so that I can give you percentage points. Just something that you can do... even if its only 10-15 minutes.

Sure Robyn, I want percentage points!

I'll set a goal of 30 minutes per workout on swim and bike.

This sounds fun.
Les

Blame the bikini shots on gator22!  I had nothing to do with *that*.... though I do think it is a pretty good idea.  Hehee!

Sarah,

I spent xmas in Florida, and that is when I got back into the exercising routine. I found it easier to get up in the morning and get my exercising done before you start vacationing things. I found the warm weather in Florida a great jump start.

Have fun

There is hope for my swim. Got the TI book and DVD on it's way and have been in contact with the TI instructor and will have several lessons over 2 days, then come home and train for a month or two and then go back again. Can't do it til February and have to drive 4 hours each way for them but I think it will be worth it. Give me a chance to get a little pool conditioning before that just using what I can gain from the book/DVD.

TI is very strange when you first start.  It feels slow and kind of awkward.... but you will get the hang of it.  And if you can nail the concepts, you will be shocked at how quickly you improve.  You just have to commit to the practice.  GET YOUR BUTT TO THE POOL!

I want to make my goals realistic for the challenge so for the first week it may seem a little easy. Just getting out and training is tough enough to begin, so if it's too easy I'll make them harder next week.
Run 3x week, 1 mile each
Bike 2x week, 2 miles each
Swim 2x week, 20 min each

I am in for the challenge... just need to figure out what it will be.

Use adobe or whatever program you use for photos to save the image as a smaller file.  There should be an option if you choose save as, or re-size.  I think the limit is like 200kb for a picture, and even smaller for an avatar.  Hope that helps.

The trick is to just start!!!  And you already did that part....  You've got a good week going and will have a great week next week when the challenge starts.

3) Swim- 20 min s- 1x week.
4) Strength training- 1x week- using weight machines.

I was gone to Vegas for work since Sunday, and coming back to the forum to see a challenge is exactly what I need. I need to pay for my 4 days of debauchery.

My goals for this coming week:

  1. Swim: 2 X 3000 meters  = 6000 meters
  2. Bike: 2 X 15 miles = 30 miles
  3. Run: 3 x 3 miles = 9 miles
  4. Yoga: 1 hour

Most important - No Alcohol for the week! I need to detox.
