kaqphin - 2009-01-15 7:05 PM What about picking your favourite bike ride and then basing the class around that... like a ride simulation... I LOVE those classes the most... but i think Im biased as they feel the most real...

I agree with you. When I need motivation, I put on a TdF (or other cycling) video. Let me tell you, when they go up the mountain.... well, I notice that I pedal faster too. LOL

Paris Roubaix!!!! I think when winter comes i will have to try using the trainer wathing 'Sunday in Hell' or get that movie that came out last year 'Road to Roubaix'...I havent seen that yet!

Ha ha ha! I actually like all the ideas. Cat, thanks for the tips--we'll do an interval class. I'm lucky to have a group that's gone through base and endurance rides with me (we still do them often, to counterbalance all the Strength stuff we do) so they can handle whatever I throw at them. It'll make for a nice mix of music too; motivational ON, easy does it OFF.

Dee, I am certainly going to bring Little Debbie's to class one day and leave them next to my bike on the platform (the instructor's bike is on a podium) with the promise of distribution after a good hard ride.

Mel--a leash? Weally?

Yanti - Ive had instructors bring little individual wrapped choclates or jelly snakes etc to classes before and distribute after class.. if its not done too often its a BIG hit!

mchally - 2009-01-16 11:06 AM ooh-ooh-ohh...Yanti, want me to make you a leash?   Well, I guess that it would be for your pooch.

Good thing none of the guys are around... they would have just fallen off their chairs!

what a shame.  I could even include a matching collar.

yep.  I just made one and it is awesome.  there are pics above.  It is fairly short (long leashes suck for running) and there is an extra loop at the base for when you need a little more control.  And it is super reflective!

I purchased the webbing and hardware a couple of weeks ago.  I had a chance to dig out my sewing machine a few hours ago and the leash was done in no time. It took a lot longer to replace the broken pieces on my backpack.
