A few things about this volunteer thing:1. It takes close to an hour and a half - not 45 minutes (as I allowed) - to get to the Bronx. Oops.2. You can show up after 10 when you're supposed to show up at 9:30 and no one cares.3. They have volunteers come WAY earlier than needed. This may be to allow for the morons from Manhattan who don't know how long it takes to get to the Bronx. I'm now chillin for 45 minutes before needed. At least the foliage is lovely to see and I'm enjoying a nice, sunny fall morning. And at some point, the cross country hotties will arrive Sunday morning toppage!

tlnewman30 - 2008-11-09 8:24 AM Good morning everyone.  Time to go into work and prepare for the gas chamber.  I am going to convience the command to let me take pictures of everybody while I am in there.  This will prevent me from having to take my mask off and choking on the CS gas.

Smart man!

Done volunteeing and headed back home. I'm tired. All the volunteers bailed so I stayed to help break down the finish. Damn work ethic. After I eat and digest, I'm heading out for a 30 minute run to see if the legs still work. Let's hope.I got 6 points last week and am going for another 6 this week!

Those lazy-azz bastages.

Well, someone thinks highly of you for helping (me).  I did that yesterday, but it was only one table and a couple of things to take care of, whereas I'm sure there was more.

Rodgers was getting battered all over due to the pizz-poor offensive line.  Then the fieldgoal miss.  At least "THANK YOU" defense for doing the scoring.

Did my 5k this morning.  No PR but I think I was below 9 min/mile which is good for me.  I ain't gonna get any faster than that.  It was cold with a bit of the flurries but a well run event.  Before the race they had rededication of a military monument.  Everytime I hear Taps I well up.   That was only time I cried at my dad's funeral.  Okay too much info.  Anyway hope all is well this weekend.  It was tough one with a major blowout with the wife and a bitter loss from my once undefeated Penn State.  Gotta go.
