Don't you have a 50 miler coming up sometime?

Coming up this Saturday. Taking it easy, but still running every day.

Can't wait to hear how it goes. Hope the weather clears up for you by this weekend. Have a blast.

Thanks
That is what I am going to keep saying to myself, "I am having a Blast!"

Good luck to all the others racing this weekend. May your miles be fast and easy and your pace booty pleasing and plentiful.

Or vice versa.

Ron, congrats on 700, its a milestone, sort of. And have a great race this weekend at MCM, I'll look for you.

Lumber Dad, I hope your Fall 50 goes well, more that likely I'll be doing my own 50 in about 4 to 5 months. I checked out your venue and it looks awesome.

#369- 10 miles, lots of hills and hill repeats. Went to a park where they have our local XC championships, nice hilly area. Did 2 loops of the course, then had to get out of the way for a race, ran alongside and watched the race, then did some soul crushing hill repeats on a steep neverending hill....the type of hill where it seems like you get to the top, but then it turns and there is just more, and more....

Had another great day running, got some pains here and there, but I think I'll get to my taper.

#89 - 3.0 miles. Is there anything more frustrating than organizers who can't get their course the right length? Still, race day is the best day. The good news is I came in 4th. The bad news is there were only 5 men running.

Finished my 50 mile run on Saturday. Still have to write my race report, but had the race of my life.
Finished in 9 hrs, 4 minutes, so it was just under my 11/min mile pace. The last few miles I was running under 10 min and the last mile was around 9, don't know how I did that at the end of 50 miles.

Must important, I got a couple mile run in on Sunday to keep this alive.
Don't know if I can top this so I guess I will have to go longer.

#371 & 372- not very structured with the training. I got to the hotel late in DC and hit the treadmill for 4 miles on Saturday, then yesterday, I literally ran round the course trying to catch my wife at as many points as possible. I stayed off the course, but I had to run alongside here and there just to get where I wanted to go. I also paced her from mile 24 to mile 26 from alongside by the spectators. I also did 2 miles when I got home just so it felt like I "went running". So who knows how far I ran on Sunday.

#373- Solid 8 mile structured workout. Want to stay focused for my race in 3 weeks. 2 mile warm up. Then 4 miles at LT (about 6:45 pace), then 5 x 600 repeats (at 5:45 pace), with jog recovery.

Again, congrats on the 50 miler Lumber Dad. I guess its 100 mile next?

#90: 4.62 - My longest run ever. I've run more in a day before, but never all at once. Thanks to Them Crooked Vultures, my last mile was my fastest.
#91: 3.25.

I continue to be inspired and awed by the miles and the fortitude the rest of you display. I'm almost 2/3 of the way to my goal. I'm hoping to wrap up my streak before Christmas, take a couple of days off, and start the next streak.

Day 702, 4 miles
Day 703, 3.3 miles
Day 704, 26.7 at the MCM in 3:47:12. I pace a friend of mine. She was hoping for a 3:45 but she faded just a little at the end. I had a great time running the whole race with her.
Day 705, 5.2 recovery miles.

Race report posted.

Read the report, sounded like a great time. I am 100% committed to doing a 50 mile ultra now, sounds like too much fun to pass up on (I realize that sounds sort of crazy to most people). Early spring seems best considering that I will probably do a HIM in May, I am doing an IM in Aug, and I will finally waive in to the NYC marathon after 3 years of losing in the lottery in Nov.

Guess I'll start looking, hopefully find a nice venue.

#374- 17 mi, lots of hills, some trails again, close to race pace for a lot of the run. Not much tough left on the schedule, a bit of speed work still, some mid distance runs. But should have a nice taper.
