As I was driving into work this Saturday morning, I resolved that one of the first things I would not do is go to work on a beautiful, fall Saturday morning.  This morning, it was that sort of foggy morning, clearing to a clear blue sky fall day in the low 50's.  I was driving to work and pulled up to the last stop light in town heading into rural, hill-valley East Tennessee.  To my right came, four bicyclists in full kit.  Nothing unusual except the ages, all about 70. I recognized two as recent retirees.  I resolve that I will never miss another fall day like this in an office in the pale glare of a computer screen typing words no one will ever read.

Those are beautiful words :=) Congrats on your retirement.

Start shopping for my farm house.  I intend to strip one down to the rafters and renovate it in my retirement.

Volunteering - good stuff.

Sleep in until at sunrise each morning.

Agreed. I"m not wanting a farm house, but I'd like to live in a small home on a lake. I'd love to sit on the dock and veg.

Thank you, Kate, for both comments.  I've got one of those small lake houses.  It is sitting VACANT today.  You are killing me.   Just kidding.  This decision to retire is getting easier and easier.
