I do use lotion, but not until this past year.  I use a type called TrueScience.  It not only is good for my dry skin in these cold climates, but it has been studied by several research labs and published in the peer reviewed literature to reduce skin cancer and prevent new skin cancer from forming.  I burn real easy and so I use this on my face, arms, and shoulders.  It's a bit pricey, but so is chemo...

If I come home from a swim with an itchy back, I will put on any lotion I can get my hands on.  That itching from chlorine is completely distracting.

If I am lucky, I can get my wife to put it on me.  (She doesn't like my hairy back.)

Some things I read that seem to help for this are to rinse off cold after a swim so the pores don't open up and absorb the chemicals, and to use a sauna to clear out the pores.

Ironically for me, when the pool gave me the itchies like crazy last year, it also cause my body hair to fall out or break off.  I say this, because when the itching was to the point when the lotion only helped a little, my back was less repulsive to my wife and she was more willing to apply lotion for me.

I also liked the two-tone hair color I had when the chemicals did their thing...

Bleached hair everywhere, great fitness, and crazy itching.  Two outa' three aint bad I guess...

Body lotion?  Heck no.
Lip balm, before bed.

If ya'll started eating more greasy foods, you could mosisturize your skin naturally!  Just sweat the lotion out.

I always think Silence of the Lambs for some odd reason -

Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.
Catherine Martin: Mister... my family will pay cash. Whatever ransom you're askin' for, they pay it.
Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
[to his dog, Precious]
Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: Yes, it will, Precious, won't it? It will get the hose!
Catherine Martin: Okay... okay... okay. Mister, if you let me go, I won't - I won't press charges I promise. See, my mom is a real important woman... I guess you already know that.
Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: Now it places the lotion in the basket.
Catherine Martin: Please! Please I wanna go home! I wanna go home please!
Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: It places the lotion in the basket.
Catherine Martin: I wanna see my mommy! Please I wanna see my...
Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: Put the f****** lotion in the basket!

I use it more in the winter. Although since I really haven't been swimming much, my need has been much less. I use whatever my wife has. Luckily she sticks to lotions with no fragrance. I also started using some nutragina after shave lotion that has really helped with razor irritation.

Hand lotion is normal for me in January. Running in the cold, riding w/out gloves, constant hand-washing to avoid colds, and heaters always on. . . if I don't use lotion the back of my hands will look like they've been hit w/a belt sander.

Well I gave it a try last night and it instantly put out the fire that was cooking my flesh all day.

I finally fessed up to the wife and let her take a close look at my skin, my new nickname is apparently alligator boy. So she now has me on a strict regimen of "it puts the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again".

Put GD it I am not going to use chapstick! Ain't gonna do it! Don't care what she says!

Udderly Smooth

I use this stuff - no joke.  It's not at all oily and has no lasting odor/smell.  You can get it in most Rite Aid (and the type) stores.
