Subject: RE: My dog was bit. What to do with the bill? We had a similar situation with our dog, neighbors dog left their yard and bit our dog. They did pay the vet bill, but I would also suggest filing a police report. You do not need to press charges, BUT there needs to be a record. I love dogs, and do not want to see anything happen to mine or anyone's, but what if it was an older lady walking her little dog, or a young child (teen ) not as strong, capable as your wife? Could they have been bit. If you don't file the report, then the next bite becomes the "first" bite (on record ). We told the neighbors we were doing this and they completely understood (of course it happened again, although since I now carry pepper spray I was able to prevent a bite this time ). If it happened once it WILL happen again.
Glad to hear that your wife and dog are ok. |
