Comments: started at a steady pace and increased effort level on the 2nd half What would you do differently?: perhaps a little more intensity on the 1st half ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Transition was a long run from the water and my transition spot was at the end of the transition which took extra time. What would you do differently?: Practice transition getting out of the suit faster ![]() Bike
Comments: Tough course. What would you do differently?: Train on the course a few times and work on hill repeats. Consider adding clip on aerobars to my road bike. ![]() Transition 2
What would you do differently?: With practice should be able to shave some time of the transition by 15-20 seconds ![]() Run
Comments: Legs were fried from the challenging bike course resulting in bonking which had me actually walk twice for about 20 seconds during the run. Slowest run of my career but 1st triathlon run since total right hip replacement 33 months ago. What would you do differently?: Train more for the hills. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Hydrated and walked for a few minutes and talked to other competitors. What limited your ability to perform faster: Recovering from a total hip replacement Event comments: Challenging race in a great scenic atmosphere. College pond is perfect for swim racing. It is a good test of fitness at the end of the season and a race I would like to do again to challenge myself to improve in the future. I would like to see them add a sprint Aqua bike in the future. Age Group Rank = 1/2
Up at 4:15 am. peanut butter toast and honey with coffee and beet juice. Hydrated with Gatorade.
No warm-up other than stretching. I did not do a swim warm up due to the amount of time I had to wait before the start, and I would have been cold by then.
