A lot of protests such as stikes and picket lines are designed to hurt businesses. Nothing wrong with that. You just better hope people agree with you or you're going to be out there marching for a long time with no real benefits. In Chicago, in front of the Congress Hotel there were picketers for years -- from the time I arrived in 2006 until the time I left in 2010. They were always there. After a while you just got used to them being there. That's not effective. But hey, more power to 'em.

They were there last time I stayed at that hotel in the fall. Makes for an interesting story to tell the wife when I call home.

crusevegas - 2011-02-22 8:37 AM Like President Obama said to the leader of Egypt he should listen to the will of the people, well it would be nice if he would take his own advise here. But no he mobalised his political arm to assult the will of the people of WI.

That's my take on it anyway.

I live in Wisconsin. I didn't vote for Walker. My will is what the protesters are fighting for. I agree that president Obama should butt out because it's our state's issue. But by that reasoning, so should you

I dindn't start it Obama did, so there.

:P

I was really annoyed when I heard about the Utah based group coming to get enough signatures to recall the senators. If people in Wisconsin want them recalled, then we'll handle it. Keep Mormons out of Wisconsin!

Protesting does not bother me.
What bothers me is Americans who engage in civil disobedience, then whine about the consequences of their actions.
It is called civil disobedience for a reason!
I am sure Nelson Mandela, MLK, and Gandhi would love to have received a mere Disturbing the Peace or Unlawful Assembly fine for their actions.

"Wait? What? You did not become a political prisoner? You did not get beaten? No death threats? What are you complaining about again? What is your cause again, the one that you are unwilling to accept the equivalent of a parking fine for?"

Oh, and I went tomy Ed.D. program with Caprice Young.

She was a President of the Los Angeles Unified School Board that dared challenge the authority of the local union.

She had to have the FBI investigate death -threats against her kids three times.

Agree, disagree.
Protest, don't protest.
But seriously, WTF!

There is nothing wrong with prostituting and I have no idea why Harry Reid wants to ban it.

Some of the best moments in American history were due to civil disobedience.  I had not read you entire post when the 60's race riots were immediately in my head.

He can't ban it, he can make criminals out of good honest working girls.

But what the heck, we have the highest unemployment in the nation now, who's gonna notice a few more on the governmetn dole.

You know, even if hookers were employed by the state, I would still consider them in the "private" sector.

I think you'd have to pay extra for that.
