If anyone wants to do a long ride, I'm doing 5 hours on Saturday, 4-19-08.

I'm going to start from my house (at George Bush and Midway) at 7:00 AM... ride up to Preston/Forest... meet my cycling club at 8:00 AM... ride to the airport, loop around it and ride back... then back to the house.

It's roughly 72 miles. I'm going to try to pick up a few extra miles at the airport (cut the rest break short and go out ahead of the group). My goal will probably be 80 miles for the day.

My average at the end will probably be close to 16.0-16.5. Now, if you feel like some speed, my cycling club will do a quick loop around the airport, and the fast ones do a 18-20 mph average.

So yea, if you want to join me, let me know. We will probably be done around 1:00 PM with the rest stops.

I want to do a long ride but 80ish??? yikes... maybe I'll just show up where your bike club meets and do that route..

Yea, if you show up at the parking lot, it will be a 55 mile bike ride.

And if you do not want such a long rest stop (or 2), we can head out around the airport before the group and get in some extra miles. I need to add 30 minutes onto my route somehow... so I can get my full 5 hours in.
