Hi Everyone.

Is anyone doing the Terre Haute olympic distance on May 31st? I have done several sprints and am moving up this year. I am looking forward to it.

It's actually not olympic distance. Swim=800yds, Bike=25miles, Run=5miles (or something like that). I did it last year and it is set up very well and is overall a very good race.

I am doing it. I have a room at the Holiday Inn on Friday. Not decided on the Friday pre-race dinner.

Pshorty, did you do the dinner last year? If so, was it good?

I have never done anything more than a sprint, so it will be interesting.

No, I didn't do the pre-race dinner or anything. I drove down from Lafayette kind of late the night before, if I recall.

Actually, of all the races that I have done, my first pre-race dinner was last week at Boston. I am going from now on. FREE FOOD (in most cases).

Planning on participating - any thoughts on places to stay? Was also thinking of just driving down early in the morning from Indianapolis.

I am wondering if this would be a good race to do if your wanting to take a step up from a sprint. I have only done two sprints, who I be overwhelmed by this distance? Is this race strictly for the advanced tri people?
bt

Yes, I would be a perfect race for stepping up from a sprint. It is not at all strictly for advanced tri people. Good luck!!

Can you get away with wearing a sleeveless wetsuit at this race?

I've used a sleeveless W.S. several years at T.H. it will be fine. For me its the bike on early season races that can be kind of hard to know what to use on your upper body.

I'm on the fence for this race. It's been a cold spring.. I'm running the half mary in Cleveland on 5/17... My training is going good, but then there's the spring chores calling my name. Oh my! What am I to do???

I am training for Muncie Endurathon on July 11th.  I have only done sprint distance races and am using this "almost" Olympic distance race to step up my training and mileage for the HIM distance.  While I hope that this will be a fun event, I am using it more as a stepping stone to the longer milage races!

Hope that helps and hope you register for the event!
