Pre-race routine:

Ran to Veteran's Park
  • 13m 30s
  • 2.35 miles
  • 05m 44s  min/mile

Started Off at medium pace well behind leaders, passed 2 Henley High School runners at about a mile. Dave Moreno was about a 1/2 block ahead. I told myself just hang tough and lets see what happens. On Main St. I hit the geothermal sidewalks (no snow) while Dave ran on the icy, snowy street. At 2nd St. I was about 5 m behind him. I made a surge rounding the corner by Veteran's Park and never looked back. I beat Dave by 9 sec.

I have been running 10-15 miles a week. Training crossover from swimming and biking must be good.
