Swim
Comments: caught up to a group and was caught from behind at the same time, made for some difficulty at that point in the race, as we were making the turn. I had to swim breast stroke for almost 25m to allow things to clear up and make my move. What would you do differently?: Done more speed work leading up to the event. Transition 1
Comments: First transition, still not accustomed to the bike and clipping in What would you do differently?: Experience Bike
What would you do differently?: more training, increase speed Transition 2
Comments: The transition area was pretty cramped, and I arrived same time as another guy and had to wait and move some stuff around. What would you do differently?: might be a bit more aggressive, but I'm not going to win the race, so I'm also not going to push anybody out of my way. Run
Comments: Felt like it was a pretty good run at a good pace, probably the best part of my race. I remember passing more people than passed me, so I consider it an accomplishment, especially when you pass those with lower numbers, because you know you're beating them. What would you do differently?: not much, just put in more speed training Post race
Warm down: waited for Nate, had some Vit Water, then went to a nearby starbucks for some coffee and pumpkin bread. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of experience overall and not a great performance on the bike. Last updated: 2008-06-05 12:00 AM

Ate pizza the night before
no warm-up, got there a little late and barely got my chip; this was my first race, so I wasn't really sure what to do and get there as early as planned.
