Pre-race routine:

Got to site. Organized my gear at the truck. Walked to transition area, got chip and body markings. Set up transitions. Went for a short walk. Was able to swim a little before start and get used to the water temp.

Comments:

I thought my swim went well. I did an OWS a couple of days before the race and that really helped me feel relaxed in the water. I felt my sighting and swimming were good. I only stopped a couple of times to get my bearing a little better.
What would you do differently?:

I wouldn't really do much differently. I just need to keep training.

I was a little slow in T1. I took a little time to wipe the sand off my feet. Also, I used a camelback on the bike which I had to put on that took a few seconds. I felt like it all went smoothly even though it was kind of slow.
What would you do differently?:

I could ride with bottles instead of a camelback, swim with a tri top and cut time putting on shirt and squirt feet off with water bottle instead of wiping them off. I could also invest in some tri cycling shoes and keep them attached to the bike, etc.

I really enjoyed the bike course. The hills weren't much fun to climb but weree pretty fun riding down them. Coming off the last hill, I did kind of ride the brakes some because you have to cross this bridge and the pavement was a little rough here. Stayed on the aero bars the whole time except for the hills. Had one bottle of gatoraid, one GU and about 40 oz of water or so. May have had a little too much to drink.
What would you do differently?:

ride more.

still a little slow here. I did wear socks mainly because about half of the run was off road. Smooth but slow.

I had leg cramps most of the time on the run. The course was challenging and fun at the same time. I walked some off and on.
What would you do differently?:

Do some longer bricks. Work up to some longer distances. Add some trail runnning into my training. Get stronger on the bike as well.

gravity.

Course: run out paved flat road for a mile. hit trail. first mile of trail was mostly stready moderate up hill. Some fairly steep downhill rooty sections then up a couple of big rooty up hill sections. most of the third mile or so is downhill back to the paved road with the flat paved road finishing out mile 4 to the finish. 2 drink stations you hit four times on the out and back course.
