Subject: RE: West Point Triathlon I volunteered this race last year and am racing this year. I did seem that the run is pretty hilly for a 5K, but what comes up must come down. The bike route should be a nice course as it was my running route for my long distance runs in the years past. It is moderately hilly, but like Courage said - everything is very gradual. In terms of training, would think hills would be in order for running and the bike course is an AWESOME place to train. The road is basically a 4 lane highway with only 2 lanes designated for cars. On the weekends, it is always filled with cyclists and runners. The one thing to note is that depending on which side of the road you are on, there are long stretches without shade. Personally, I can't wait for this years event. Should be a great time. |
