Hi there,

I have been in some training for the Quartermax, but have not focused on my running much- I hear that the course is really hilly- anyone care to weigh in on this one?

Let's put it this way, I did Halfmax out there in September, and my knees are still recovering!  To call it hilly would be an understatement.  You're either going DOWN or UP.  There are no "false flats" in that resort.

But, I've never done the spirts/olys out there, so the course might a little different.  I can't see it changing things drastically, no matter what route they go with.

Maybe I'll do some training out there that weekend and see some BT'ers.

later,

~B

You should think positive thoughts like what goes up, must come down!

I don't remember there being any KILLER hills on the run, but i don't really remember any flats either.

Ouch, hilly run out there! But nice fast bike leg Ultramax did a great job as usual.

i personally loved the route, and did not think it was very hilly.  Coupla steep parts, but all fairly short.  The beggining and end are flat, and a long part before 2nd mile station.  IT was just 2 loops of the octomax 5k

ADVICE PLEASE....

I was looking for some Tri's in the MO and found this year's UltraMax Series. Since they span out from May to Sept, do you think I would be able to do the series as a new triathlete? If so, I was going to apply for the entire series at once, but I have to do it by Monday(April 13)!!

I am going for my first Xterra in 2 weeks, and a sprint Tri the following weekend. I have raced a few 1/2's and 5ks and won the race or age group in all.

Thank you for your advice.
