Subject: Rattlesnake OLY Cancel -- Have to make my goal...

Like many others, I had the rattlesnake as my A race and was disappointed to not be able to finish.  Two questions for everyone:

1) Are there any other OLY distances that are still open in the area this year?

2) How big of a stretch would it be to push to a HIM?  I think the harvest moon is still open in Sept. and there is also the Silverman in Vegas in Nov.   With the training and investment to this point, whats a plane ticket...

A lot depends on your base.  I have seen OLY training plans that are longer/tougher than HIM plans and some that are not much shorter. 

You figure, the swim is only about 400 m longer, but the bike and run are over double on race day.

The Tenderfoot Tri in Salida on August 30 is not quite an oly, but it's close. 1000 meter swim, 24.9 bike, 10K run. That's about 3 hours from the Denver area.
