I didn't think it was too bad at first.  But as the swim went on, I started to notice an odor from the water and I got a sore throat afterwards for a few days and I can only attribute that to the water.  My feeling is that unless the water is moving, it is very hard to keep clean.  Larger lakes will at least have some movement from the wind.  The canal does not seem to have much if any flow to it.

But hey, a lot of people did it and had no isssues at all!

The water wasn't that bad but it wasn't that good either.  I just figured it would get worse over the next year.  I suppose a little algea never hurt anyone.

My best race of the year, since I was injured and unable to run any, was the Lafayette Sprint.  I volunteered that one and want to commend all of you that finished.  The weather was horrible and I watched the bikes fly by on 38 in the pouring rain (with lightning as well).  I am looking forward to that one in 2009, along with 5-6 other races.

I was thinking about the Tri Indy Olympic race, but with everything that has been said about the water, maybe I will pass.  I do want to run an Olympic distance race, but I am not sure if Boilerman should be my A race, with some of the issue they were having, it might not even be run.
