I would like to buy a pair of compression running tights for cold morning runs. Does anyone know how these fit for athena's? I know the 2xu brand come in unisex sizing... my guess that at 5'2 they will be too long. I haven't checked out the crw ones... any insight would be appreciated.

I haven't received them yet, but I ordered a pair of size L Skins compression capris.  I have short legs at 5'6" so I expect them to be the right length.  Those might be an option for you?

Just a thought here, but have you considered Under Armour Cold Gear tights for women? I bought a pair last year to use in a 5k race that I did in April. Air temp was in the 30's at race time, and the UA tights performed perfectly. And at $50 a pair, I'm guessing that they might be a bit cheaper than the 2XU or Skins brands. Plus... you could go to any Sports Authority, D!ck's Sporting Goods, REI, etc...to try them on.

Good thinking about the capri's. I will also check out under armour. Trisports has 25% off right now so that is what got me thinking.

Try the Zoot CompressRx line--they have very specific calf, thigh, and waist measurements for their stuff. I ran a 12-miler in my CompressRx tights and my legs were oh so happy. I love 'em!

Oh I wanted to report back!  I got my skins capris.  I have short legs (about a 30" inseam) and they are about 2-3 inches above my ankles.   I ran with them last night.  They are thin but warm and I actually thought they would be a bit thicker.   Since I don't like wearing skin tight pants in public, I put on a pair of pants over them but I really enjoyed them.  If they were only a bit cheaper, I'd be happier

I asked the same question and got a ton of answers.  I actually tried on UA, Nike and New balance.  All of them were the same size, the NB and Nike were to tight, the UA was a good fit.  I did like the feel of the NB and they had a wind blcok on the front of the legs.  However the store did not ahve the next size up and at $70 I was not going to blind order.

Good luck

Joe

UA cold gear for the winter days.  I actually like the Target C9 tights for the chilly days.
