Subject: DFW FS: Kreitler rollers & Tacx I-Magic (Computrainer-ish) trainers I've bought a new set of rollers and don't want to ship these, so I figured I'd post here: Kreitler Challenger 4.5" dia rollers - $100 I got these used in '05 and have only ridden them over the Winter months. I've probably put about 1000 miles on them. Kreitler has been making rollers forever and is one of the top in quality. I've kept them in my garage and they are a little dirty with a few scratches on the drums, but spin smooth with no wobble. I'm only selling them as the big rollers don't give much resistance and I found a good deal on some 3.25" rollers. Kreitler Pics
Tacx I-Magic VR Trainer - $300 This was my feel into rear wheel based trainers. I bought the trainer (without controller) off CraigsList and then bought the I-Magic upgrade kit. I also bought 2 Real Life (RLV) and 1 Ergo Video. The RLV is an actual video of some rides that move at the speed you pedal. The resistance also auto-adjusts as you go up/down hills. The Ergo Video is where you're riding "with" a small pack and the resistance is adjusted based on power.
You can use this trainer "riding" a video, a VR course, or with the Catalyst software. The VR course is based on the older "green" software. I didn't really do the VR stuff much as I like the RLVs better. The Catalyst is cool as you can program the trainer to do your workouts. You can do this based on HR, cadence, resistance or power. Basically, you set it up with what you want and it adjusts the resistance to help you keep your target. This is also great for interval workouts. Tacx Pics
