If this poll is for bikes that were available new in the 2008 season, I think the Cervelo Dual 9 is long gone and the the P2 SL Ultegra or the Soloist Team were their entry bikes for '08.

Great bike for around $750. Rode a friend's cannondale that he paid 2x what I paid...both of us prefered the trek.

Yeah, I took the top performers from the 2007 poll, if some bikes are now irrelevant as a new 2008 bike, please add-in your newer 2008 bike.  Thanks for the catch.

I'm going with the Trek 1.2...

LBS and other have recommended it as the best beginner bike for the price...

I figured it was something like that and it was no problem to add in the Soloist.  I'd say you've got your hands full with something like 30 polls going on at once.

I love my Trek Pilot 1.2. I just got it this year, and I feel SO much faster in it than I did on my old Wal-Mart bike. With this bike and a little bit of training over the summer, I was able to almost double my average bicycle speed in a triathlon.

I love my Kuota K factor SL..it was a great deal (they had broke the mold for the K Factors, so they could only make the SL nad sold it ot me for the price of the basic K Factor...saved me over $300) Its a great bike!

I voted for the Nemesis.  Heck of a lot cheaper than the Cervelo P2C but it is a little leavier since it is not carbon but you get decent components for around $1200 instead of $2500.  That is a heck of a lot of entry fees.

I voted for the Javelin Narni.  For the money(during the sale) I don't think there was a better deal to be had.  I got stuck with a Sizzano but I like it a lot too.  Already want to upgrade though.

Tommaso is one of those unheard of companies, but they make an outstanding bike for the price.  Got a full carbon fiber frame and 105 components for $1199!
