Subject: RE: new 2 tri There are 2 things I think that are key to improving your swim. 1. Get a swim coach to work with you a couple of times so that you learn proper technique. 2. Swim, Swim, Swim. This sounds simple, but the time in the water makes a difference.
Let me offer this word to you. In Jan of 2002, I had never been in a lap pool. It was almost a traumatic experience for me. I hung in there and Monday, this was my work out with some of my friends from the local tri club. 300-yard Warm Up, 10X100's (25 catch-up drill then 50 max effort then 25 catch up drill ) 4 X 400 max effort with 1 min rest. 300 cool down.
I would have never dreamed that I would be doing a workout like that. I am still not a fast swimmer, but I have improved tremendously from where I started. There is no reason, that you can't work hard and do the same thing.
Still Tri'n
