Hi everyone, I have a few friends that enjoy doing triathlons and am thinking about starting myself. But I have never done one and am a little nervous! I was also looking for a training program and am going to try out the programs I found on beginnertriathlete.com but was also thinking about purchsasing the program on alltriathlon.com for $19.99 and was wondering if any of you have tried that one. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you in advance!!!

Welcome to the site -- you'll find lots of information here -- stroll around a bit on BT and look at some articles. And ask lots of questions as there are a lot of informed folk about. Hard to answer general queries -- but I am sure you can do a triathlon this year.

I have no experience with allriathlon.com -- it's a new one to me. Perhaps others have.

Good luck and have fun.

Nancy

Welcome Jessica. There is indeed lots of information here. Look through the training programs on the site here b/4 you buy. I've looked at a few and the programs on BT are comparable to those you pay for.

Hey Jessica, I'm pretty new here too, but I've quickly found there's a great group of athletes here that are more than willing to help with ideas and motivation. And there's plenty of tips to be found online for free as well. Congrats on your decision to take up this great sport. Remember the nervousness will pass with preparation, and confidence will come with training. Like I mentioned to Janie in another thread, your main competitor is YOURSELF...race within your abilites, come to the finish with a little extra in the tank and you'll be psyched up to enter your 2nd triathlon in no time. Ask lots of questions here, get ideas from everyone else as to what they are doing for training. Try some of those ideas out. Some will work for you, some won't, so use the ones that keep you motivated. The thing that always makes me feel good, no matter what the training or how strong I feel, is to always end a training session with a little energy left over. Any time I have the feeling of "Well, I could have done more today...", it's a good sign that I'm looking forward to the next session. Don't beat yourself up during training and you'll do just fine. And keep us informed as to how things are going!
