Subject: RE: Tri clubs in NorCal? I do not, I have raced against members of each club but that's all, they are as friendly and helpful as they are competitive. They are extremely competitive with each other and you will find some that jump from one club to another. Joining one of these clubs is not a huge financial investment, probably one of the least expensive purchases I have made since racing. My advice is to get involved with some of the clubs and get a feel for yourself, go to some meetings, workouts, seminars and get an Idea of thier personalities and attitudes, most club websites list calendars and email addresses. Last year I joined a club where I did not care for the people at all, they all bowed to one person, that person crashed thier bike and lost all thier front teeth, got up a started riding again, they all thought she was some kind of hero, I thought she was repulsive. My point is I have one opinion, they have another, so the only one that counts is yours. This year I am with L.A. Tri Club now and dont go to meetings, workouts, or gossip. I sometimes go to larger events or seminars, get tons of vendor discounts and enjoy the comraderie at races, all for 70 dollars. Just the discounts have well paid for the membership!Good luck!
