I have the Spinervals 1.0 "No Slackers Allowed" with Coach Troy Jacobson. This tape is FAR TOO ADVANCED for the likes of me. After trying it on two separate occasions, I knew I was in trouble when it was rated as 9.5 out of 10.0 on a difficulty scale. Does anyone have an alternate recommendation as there are days where I have no choice but to work on the fluid trainer indoors.

I have come to a realization...Spinervals is for hardcore riders.

The real key to the Spinerval series is the set of drills that you do. Too many folks get focused on the gearing and the cadence goals and don't get the benefit the tape intended.
First and foremost, go at your level! You will hear Coach Troy say from time to time that you need to adjust based on your exertion level!! Take that to heart! If he calls for a "Big ring and 15" there is no crime in doing a "Big ring and 18 (or less)". Go at you pace but the drills he uses and the combinations thereof is what makes that program so useful.

I tried the Muscle Breakdown and liked the workout. I didn't follow the gearing recommended because it was too much for me. I also got through about 20 minutes of the one on Techniques & Recovery (may not be the correct name). I find that it is hard to get mentally prepared for these tapes since I have to get the trainer from the garage, get the bike, set it all up, put the DVD in, etc. It is one thing to go out and ride but all the preparation is a pain!

The tapes are great if you can't get outside to ride.
