My watch batter to my S510 decided to go out on me....

I'm doing IMAZ next week and just found out that the only way to get the watch battery replaced is to send it into Polar. But,... as you guessed it... I doubt I'd get it back before I leave for AZ next Wednesday.

Any suggestions? ...anyone know if a Polar rep will be at the Race and possibly help me out.

I would borrow one from a friend if I were you.  I sent my Polar HRM in a few weeks ago.  It will probably be back this week.  I had to buy a new transmitter for $34.95 in addition to the $10 battery.

I think I read in the manual to my 520 that the battery could be replaced by the user but you need to be careful in sealing everything back up.  How long have you had your 520 before the battery went?

Another idea is the Polar USA "Try it before you buy it" program. On their website it gives a list to stores around the country where you can try their products.

TH3

the watch is almost 4 yrs. old...

I think I figured out how to solve my problem... I had a fealing I could replace the battery myself... and (if I read things right) it's out of warranty anyways... So, I decided to replace the battery myself (done this before with other HRM / watches).

HOWEVER, guess what?

The Polar watch battery is an out of the ordinary size. So, I had to find a supplier... got lucky and found a supplier in Mansfield Tx. www.mouser.com - Mouser Electronics...

They were very nice and said I'd have my battery in the mail within 1-2 days. And get this, the cost was a littler over 1 dollar plus about 2 bucks for shipping. That's way better than the price at Radio Shack ( 3.30 plus shipping).... would have cost me about 10 bucks to get it within 1 week - MAYBE.

As for as my chest strap, I probably need to replace it as well... but, that may not be as easy to do since I will have to ship that overnight to get a replacement strap.

I wish Polar would be able to have replacement straps available at the IM.... certainly would make my life easier (and cheaper).

Thanks...
