Pre-race routine:

Race was at 1:00, so had granola for breakfast. All I had was Perpetuum, so took it at about 10:00. Had a couple of bananas before 12:00. Stretched some at home and warmed up legs on bike with trainer.
Event warmup:

Jog around a couple of blocks, mild stretching.
Run
  • 46m 5s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

Wind in face first half, a cold wind with gusts. Wore light weight cycling jacket over a UA shirt. Was just a little too warm at the end.

Not too bad for first race of the year. Shows I have work to do to be ready for summer tris.
Post race
Warm down:

Stood around waiting for awards, and ate a great meal provided by volunteers. Light stretching at home and application of moist heat on calves.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough winter training. Some cramping has slowed early spring training. Must deal with this.
