Two weeks ago I plunked down $60.00 for my first tri., Olympic distance. I don't know why I didn't start with a sprint or maybe an indoor club event. Anyway, about twice a day I think, "I hope I didn't waste $60.00".
There's nothing like a cash down payment to provide a little motivation! In fact, I recommend it to everyone--if you are on the fence, put your dough down!!
Definitely not a waste of money!! And just think of all the money you are giving to charity! (Don't most races have some charitable aspect???) You are being a good citizen!
Fear or that uneasy feeling can keep you training for the event! Keep trianing and you can pass the poor souls that weren't worried about anything while they sit on the side of the road and watch you go by.
