Pre-race routine:

Setup transition....went, oh crap! bike is first!! i didn't bring my trainer!! ahhh!!!
Event warmup:

After running around like chicken with my head cut off, I proceeded to do laps around the parking lot on the bike to attempt to do a 10 minute "TT" warmup. I guess it kind of worked?
Swim
  • 08m
  • 400 meters
  • 02m / 100 meters
Comments:

I had asthma during this....grr and my right calf cramped at the start of it. And no one to draft off because I was in the water so early. Also, there was like a 200m run to and from the swim course. Good news is the water was warm!
What would you do differently?:

Do another race
Transition 1
  • 02m 30s
Comments:

This is the bike to swim Transition...I don't have a time for that. I dropped off my bike at the transition, grabbed my goggles and cap...put on goggles, and when I tried to put on cap, my head was too sweaty for it to stay on my head... swim cap then shoots 6 feet in the air, and I repeat, and was ultimately successful
Bike
  • 25m 35s
  • 8.9 miles
  • 20.87 mile/hr
Comments:

The start was interesting, we ran to the bikes, and went! I was able to do a flying mount and dismount. I got to watch a ton of people stop at the mount zone and try to clip in.
I think only a couple people passed me on this one. yay! I always have to do a much better job on the bike to make up for ITBS on the run
What would you do differently?:

spin down sooner. I have yet to master that so that i don't cramp for the run, or swim!
Transition 2
  • 02m 30s
Comments:

This is the Swim to run transition. This is where I got "lost in transition" I could not, for the life of me find the run exit after the swim. I eventually found it
What would you do differently?:

not do this race
Run
  • 43m
  • 3.11 miles
  • 13m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

If you look at my last races, I have been struggling with ITBS, This is as fast as I can run without it hurting.
What would you do differently?:

...not have ITBS
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

ITBS...Transition confusion

Event comments:

The order of the race was changed due to the renaissance fair happening at the same park. They wanted us off the bikes ASAP so that traffic would not interfere with us, or vice versa. If i had known this was going to be like this, I would not have registered for the race. Also, the bike course was waaaay shorter than the advertised 20k.
