Swim
Comments: Felt calm and waited my turn to jump in. Swam the first 50 freestyle and passed a couple of people. Know that I can power along pretty well breast stoke and keep my heart rate low so I kept at that for the rest of the swim. Swam about the same as last year- Will concentrate on bettering my swim time now! What would you do differently?: Spend more time in the pool. I don't swim nearly enough- Just enough to make the swim and get out of the pool under my own power and run to transition! Transition 1
Comments: My T1 was my fastest yet. Still tweaking on how to get faster with each race. What would you do differently?: Turn my Garmin on before the swim. Don't know that I'll ever get faster getting into my shoes or leaving them on the bike.. Seems like every time I practice this it takes me longer to get into my shoes and they never feel the same. Bike
Comments: I really tied to push it on the bike as this is my best portion of the race. Love my bike! Passed several from the start and felt good. After about mile 4-5 my legs were warm and I felt even better. Pushed hard and encouraged other races I passed. Really have fun at these races! I know most of them will catch me on the run! What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Have a good time riding- Would like to just be able to go faster and average 20! Transition 2
Comments: Rolled my socks on- Hate running w/out socks! What would you do differently?: Nothing really.. Could change my Garmin to a quick release to avoid having to unfasten the strap as I run with my bike. Fooled with that longer than I'd like.. But managed to get it off my bike just as I racked it and ran while changing setting to run.. Still faster than previous races for me. Run
Comments: Like running on the soft track in the shade. Tried to push my run- which consists on running and walking.. I'll eventually run the whole thing! Thanks to Laurie for running with me and pushing each other! What would you do differently?: Continue running a few times a week- Rather than sporatically. Pushing for my 10 min/mile goal. I hope to make this by the Take on the Heat tri next month! Post race
Warm down: Crossed the finish line to see my friends and family- And my AG winner and team mate Kathy. Drank lots of water and walked around a little. What limited your ability to perform faster: I can definitely improve on my swim. I've always just gotten through the swim, but need to step it up and swim faster while keeping my heart rate down. Continue my rides to get faster on the bike.. Keep running to get to a sub 10 min/mile! Event comments: This has been a fun race the last 2 years. Very organized with tons of volunteers. Beautiful area for the race. Having an outdoor pool swim is awesome! The ride is nice- Even with the U turns- I'd rather have those and this nice even pavement rather than the scary road conditions on the Take on the Heat! Like that we don't ride in traffic- And have only one intersection to cross! Last updated: 2009-07-27 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5am and had my usual bagel w/ cream cheese and banana w/ coffee. Had the car loaded up. Headed over and got there early enough to park right near transition. Set up in transition and found a few of the Frisco Triathlon Club members to hang with.
None.. I'm lucky to swim the 350!
