Subject: Washing bike shorts???
O.K. Silly question here. I just bought new bike shorts and I'm wondering how to wash them. They don't seem to have any instructions. I've thrown the tag out that might have. Do I have to hand wash them because of the padding? Or is it o.k. to throw them in the washing machine?

Help!

Throw 'em in the washing machine. Been doing it for years. No ill effects.

Washing machine - gentle cycle.  Hang dry (they'll last longer than if you throw them in the dryer).

If a piece of my cloths can't handle the dryer then it isn't gunna last for long in my house.
I just bought some cycleing shorts and read the washing instructions then promptly put them in the dryer to see what happens..... so far so good

Just throw them in the washer and hang dry for best effects. I will also occasionally dry them in the sun, turned inside out because I had read somewhere that the UV rays help to kill bacteria that may not wash out in the padding. Don't know if it's true or not, but I gotta hang dry 'em anyway, can't hurt to do it in the sun!
